![]() July 28, 2011 - 4:49pm | Thinking about currency in the Frontier....
It highly likely that the PGC credit did not shoulder aside local planetary currencies. And if that did not happen then some currency speculation must go on even during the period congruous with the 2nd sathar war.
Sure its one more level of detail that could be ignored in favor of the ubiquitous credit for simplicity and player ease but.....

![]() July 22, 2011 - 9:41pm | I'm a terrible sucker for PBS documentaries about archeology; Secrets of the Dead, Nova, etc. Just re-watched a couple that brought out conclusive evidence to show that the Spanish versions of how the Aztec and Incan empires were conquered is a bit of history being written by the victors and seriously downplayed the roles of the natives that helped them. It got me thinking about archaeological mysteries in the frontier as an adventure. Naturally you need an official version of history and then you need the truth. There has to be a reason that the truth os covered up. I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
![]() July 20, 2011 - 9:56pm | Imagine the SF setting re-imagined to include Sol system in the Milkyway. Alpha Centari would likely be a human colony. Sol system can be extrapolated to have lunar, Mars, belt, Jovian moon. Colonies & etc. Drals, vrusk, & yazirian home worlds and colonies need to be established then possibly include some general vectors for sarhar space. Some thought should be given to projecting current political entities into that future. I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |

July 14, 2011 - 7:43am | Yes, the 14 to 15 ft tall, 400+ lb. martian of scifi novel fame is now available as a player character race in Capt'n Rags "Noo Joisey" Star Frontiers game! Certainly not easy fitting your green man into a fighter cockpit, but definitely worth the look of fear on Sathar faces when they see you! Be big! Be strong! Be a Barsoomian Green Man! July 7, 2011 - 8:38am | Never liked the 'cartoony' (just made that word up btw) way the Ul Mor were depicted for the original Creature Update section in the Volturnus module. Poked around on Google, whipped out mah devastating MS Painting skills (or lack there of) and came out with this pic for my website: http://ragnarr.webs.com/frontierraces.htm#758009054 My SF website izz: http://ragnarr.webs.com |
![]() July 3, 2011 - 7:53pm | I'm just musing about adventure ideas here after watching an episode of the History Detectives investigating a "grave torpedo" which was basically a mine left on top of a coffin for grave robbers to disturb and blow themselves and a bit about a woman running a charity to help kids that have been mutilated by land mines and IEDs I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
![]() July 3, 2011 - 4:09pm | Check out the Frontier Travel Guide section of the wiki on the Star Frontiers Network. I've now added all the canon material (AD, KH, ZG and modules) on all the star systems and planets in the Frontier and Rim. I'll be adding in information from the Star Frontiersman magazine and from the old Star Frontiers listserv archives as well. If you've got system briefs and want to add them to the wiki, feel free to jump on over and start editing. Ad Astra Per Ardua!
