First there were linguists- bright individuals with years of training, highly paid and in high demand in the emerging Frontier.

But Greed is king and in an effort to grease the wheels of commerce the emerging Pan-Gal corporation paid a dralasite linguists to develop the common trade language Pan Gal. This greatly facilitated both commerce and communication.

At about that time new computer programs were developed that allowed even novice linguist to be almost as effective as the masters of their craft but with computer support.

Oh humans!! Innocent We discover a galactic community filled with multiple species of aliens, and the first thing we think about is "how can we have sex with them?".

I've uploaded version 2.0 - still needs some edits. If anyone has time to review that would be awesome. Drop me a line or post in the project.

The questions a game developer should answer, are just as valid for the players.

    1.What is Star Frontiers about?
2.How is Star Frontiers about that?
3.What behaviors does Star Frontiers encourage or reward to achieve it?
    4.What do the players do?
    5.What do the characters do?
6.What is fun to you, and why do you want to play Star Frontiers?

Identifying what Star Frontiers is to you, could help answer when Star Frontiers is no longer Star Frontiers to you.

Never liked the goofy whacky Mechanon shown in Zeb's Guide to the Frontier. Why the artist chose to depict the Mechanons like walking pinball machines I don't know, but whatever.

My version of a Mech can be found here http://ragnarr.webs.com/rimcoalitionraces.htm#734177384

So what's YOUR Mechanon look like?

Star Trek was famous for these: giant space omeba's,  energy clouds, and mechanical dooms day cones

Farscape sort of had this with the living space ships.

Empire Strikes Back had mynock and asteroid space worms

variations of this theme would be minefields and probes that do things to the PC's ship (all done by Star Trek one time or another)

    Whats your favorite space monster?

What space monster's might work for Star Frontiers?

elements of the Bugs in the System module could qualify for this, sort of.

.....is a truly iconic station. Oh sure it has plenty of space stations and even a few have name but there is nothing in the Frontier that invokes the imagination the way names like Babylon 5 or Deep Space 9, or even Moss Eisley or Sector General from the James White novels (though that was a Galactic General Hospital)

There was an effort to do something of the sort for Star Frontiers with Star Base Hellhound

Also I think Shadow shack did something along these lines with his Mercenary Star base set in Zebulon

Was at the library today and wondering what I could donate to wipe out about $20 worth of fines when it occured to me that I had the complete collection of the Planet of the Apes movies in VHS.

While watching the most recent movie that I check out of the library an adventure idea occured to me:

Planet of the Yazirians, though my idea is sort of Planet of the Apes meets Shogun

Basic premise is a space craft from earth reaches the home planet of the yazirians at a point prior to them attaining space flight, maybe way before they discover space flight.
