How viable is it, within the SF technology, to convert an entire asteroid into a fortress?

Oh humans!! Innocent We discover a galactic community filled with multiple species of aliens, and the first thing we think about is "how can we have sex with them?".

if you square a cube does it become an octoid?

No Doubt most correspondance in the Frontier will be transmitted via electronic medium, whether over a com net, by subspace, or by a web of computers linking all the information sources on planet.

And yet it would still be possible to still write a letter, if only you could find some hard copy paper and a good writing instrument- try your local CFM front business.

The Frontier Sector and its immediate surroundings has a very high population density.

Humans, dralasites, vrusk, Yazirians, and sathar

    Ifshnits, humma, osakar, and mechanons

Eorna and their 3 uplifted sentient species, clikks, heliopes, lokuku, mhemne, saurians, s'sessu, zuraquor, and zethra, and of course the ancient tetrarchs

There is also the hypothetical Unspec (the unknown species that threatened the clikks enought to cause them to build bolo sized tanks)

Note Deryn Rys started a thread to discuss what the clikks are and this thread is to discuss the broader topic of Where and when and what happened to them. Deryn's thread is here:
    http://www.starfrontiers.us/node/4329

Zebs tells us the heliopes were abondoned on Starmist 950 PF or millenium ago and from the module it seems that the clikks never returned.

That little fact suggest a civilization in decline.

So what to do with the Clikks? dead and dying scattered remenants of a once great warrior culture?

    Question:

Why do misjumped ships always land in a system?

books says simply accelerating to 1% C activates the physics of void jumping but if its based on simple acceleration then decel would drop ships anywhere ie not in a system.

The Ebony Eyes twin black holes were discovered on a misjump.

It would seem that the activity of void jumping actually is impacted by gravity.
Is it possible that our understanding of void jumping is flawed?

This is the updated version of the timeline for the Expanded Frontier of the (URS). some sections were expanded on and explined a little better than in the original timeline. Eventually when I have the Gamma World timeline in place I should have a cohesive timeline going from the 1950's all the way to 220FY which should satisfy many timeline buffs. So here it is.

I was reading an article in an old Dragon magazine called "A Fist full of Credits", by David "Zeb" Cook, which described several additional bits of equipment available to characters in the Frontier. But what i found interesting were two things, the first was the whole idea of Organic computers which could be grown, and could be implanted into a character.

I managed to acquire a very large collection of Dragon Magazines and as I was going through them and remembering what it was like way back when, when I would rush off to the Compleat Stategist to pick up my Dragon magazines I came opon a question and answer page in Issue 92. that read as follows:

Q: What were the original homeworlds of the Dralasites, Vrusk, Yazirians, and Humans of the Star Frontiers universe?

    Adventure Idea:

rare/important/ insured piece of art lost during the Free World Rebellion in Madderly's Star was recently sold on the Trade STation in Cassidine 75 years after it disappeared. It was formally owned by the Naar Conglomerate which ceased to exist after the rebellion but the vrusk trade houses that held account payable from Naar had liens on all the Naar assets and the insurance company has paid out on the policy 70 years ago.
