![]() January 14, 2014 - 9:13pm | Having never read Captive Planet but just getting a copy in the mail from ebay I thought I'd categorize the setting details in it in a systematic manner. I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
![]() January 14, 2014 - 5:59am | In another thread Iggy said: I am in favour of jump fields being necessary to enter the void, and
ships must create a magnetic field around them to protect them from
radiation and deflect particles when at high velocity. I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
January 12, 2014 - 11:27pm | Here at the Star Frontiers site, we often work together to come up with new things for the game. Often it is from the online magazines such as the Frontier Explorer and Star Frontiersman, and sometimes we just brainstorm and solve issues here in the forum or in our projects section. My question for everyone is this: How much of this new material do you use in your campaign? Do you incorporate everything we come up with together, or that you see in the magazines, or do you pick and choose? Do you adopt 50%? 10%? Nothing? |
January 8, 2014 - 8:22pm | Herein I do the math related to acceleration and Void speed. Just for fun. Let: 1 hex = 1×107 m 1 g = 9.8 m·s-2 c = 3×108 m·s-1 1 turn = 600 s 1 day = 7.2×104 s First, we calculate the relationship between 1 ADF and 1 g: |
![]() January 7, 2014 - 8:55am | So Star Law can commandeer a star ship in pursuit of interstellar criminals or sathar agents. Imagine a marshal commandeering a vessel but the captain and crew are engaged in some illegal activity and plan to kill him after the void jump. Their acting nervous and twitchy in the meantime, can the marshal figure it out before the jump him and space his body? System for start of adventure would need to be one without a militia so that he cant call on the militia to send an assault scout to halt the vessel he's pursuing. I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
![]() January 5, 2014 - 4:06pm | Anyone ever run a solo campaign? Having only two PCs might be almost as good as a solo campaign. I was writing an article on alternative beginnings to the Volturnus Campaign and one of them involved a Star Law marshal as a solo campaign investigating the selling of ships that have been reported lost and had insurance premiums paid out. I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
January 5, 2014 - 1:22pm | Seems this little fun game could be tweeked for a SF adventure: What do you guys think? "Never fire a laser at a mirror." |
December 30, 2013 - 5:04pm | OK was watching the Colony last night. Thought Lawrence Fishburne and Bill Paxton, how bad could it be? Spoiler Alert OK so another post apocalypse one group turned canibal eating everyone they meet flick. But it did get me thinking of how to turn it into an SF module like the one in one of our mags where part of the colonists went feral and all. But how do you eat the races of the Frontier? Humans and Yazirians are pretty straight foward. Vrusk maybe like shellfish but Dralasites? Any ideas? Sounds like a great job but where did you say we had to go? |
December 30, 2013 - 10:06am | I hope this is the right place for this. Hi everyone! CaesarCon 2014 is scheduled for March 28-30 in Montpelier, Ohio, and registration is open to the public. The tiny game convention had about 30 participants last year and hopefully will have more this year. Details can be found here: I'll be running three Call of Cthulhu games at the convention on Friday night, Saturday night, and Sunday morning. Here they are: Call of Cthulhu RPG Journals: http://www.yog-sothoth.com/blogs/2951 Other journals: http://forum.abyssalgaming.com/blog/7-maxs-blog/ http://www.penandpapergames.com/forums/blog.php/8662 |
![]() December 30, 2013 - 6:59am | Couple of thoughts just popped: federal law requires local tv stations to broadcast on the airwaves so that people are not forced to buy from the cable companies. I'm one of those people that refuses to pay for cable and my kids make do with PBS programs and re-runs of House since they are fascinated with doctor programs. I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
