I was going to start this discussion in the conversion round table project but its not really a conversion issue.

I've been working on a SwoN project and going over the ship classes in SwoN vs SF and the Free Merchant class vessel has been catching my eye.  Based on the stats I would call it a civilian version of the assault scout, providing you accept the SwoN Patrol boat as equating the assault scout.

The differences in capabilities are due to the differences between military and civilian vessels in general.

I just located this work of art on deviantart.com and had to share it. The artist called it "Broken Angel" but to me is said, Crash on Volturnus, though perhaps with the words new or revisited added.

    Enjoy.

I'm still in the beginning of the book but it seems to me that the Majat of this novel by CJ Cherryh would make a great model for the klikk and or understanding a hive consciousness.

It explores the dynamics of a human and hive society's somewhat uneasy truce at a time when change if forced upon the situation.

I've got a gaming day with 10-12 hours to run some Star Frontiers game.

I've not run any of the Star Frontiers modules before. These will be adult players who will fairly focused on the game.

How long on average do you think it would take to run the 'Sundown on Starmist' module? I know it will vary greatly, but just want to know if this is something that you would expect to finish in 12 hours or less. I would presume it would take longer than 6 hours?

    Thanks in advance!

Drop pods are essentially the same tech as an escape pod except their purpose, initially, was about delivering troops to the surface of a planet under fire. Later civilian versions turned up for the scout/exploration serices and MSO where the stealth, jamming and defenses were down played and the pod was used for a command post after the drop or a supply depot. Military versions were all about delivering the maximum number of troops as fast and safe as possible so they could leave the pod behind as they advanced on their objective.

The MSO had reached the point where it was determined that it could use a hospital ship for its mission. At a time when the expense of the naval budget had come under fire (the period between the two sathar wars is a very long interval) this ammounted to transfering the cost of a ship to the MSO and yet retaining its for recall to Space Fleet service. There was also a bit of a propaganda motive too in that it would appear that the politicians were doing something to prune back the naval budget and were doing something along the lines of a social service.

What sort of emergency equipment could you expect to find on a launch (large or small) or a workpod?

    Hello Fellow Frontiersmen!!

I am all set and fully tested my remote gaming system for Star Frontiers and are looking for 4 dedicated players.  The remote system uses ReamWorks, Anytime Meeting and most likely this site though I currently have it on Obsidian Portal.

    this is an evolving idea.

I was thinking as an optional rule star ships could have "racial abilities" based on which specie designed and built them.

For example any yazirian craft of HS5 or smaller automatically gets atmospheric streamlining or gets it for a discount. All yazirian built ship also have a 10% reduction in HP but get +1 ADF

The Frontier Explorer has some art available for use involving what might be either cryo chambers or cloning chambers
