Originally developed as a method or hazardous cargo and mining applications the science of teleportation has expanded in the Frontier to become more frequently used for cargo and even people. It is an expensive system and requires special skills and equipment to sucessfully operate.

Can anyone explain to me why a rocket weapons gunner (the KH skill) must first qualify with projectile weapons at a level of skill that would make him an expert shooter in the infantry.

I have always thought that Gyrojet weapons skill was more appropriate than projectile and in fact why not dump projectile weapons and just base the pre-req off of Gyrojet weapons

Below I've listed some probing question to start conversations about Frontier Artifacts. I'd like to hear your ideas to represent another aspect of the mysterious side of the frontier.

What type of artifacts would be found in the frontier?
    • Old, Modern and Advanced Technology
    • Magic Items
    • Mentalist Items
    • Other
    Who would have left them?
    • Tetrachs (#7-p35)
    • Ancients
    • Other races passing through
    • Warp'd here somehow from another part of the galaxy
    For what purpose?

First off, hello everyone. I used to be on the list serv that Roymeo had back in the middle 90's. SF has been a favorite topic of discussion with my brother on weekends for decades. We played back in the 80's when I got the original blue boxed set. I found the zine and this site when I was searching for SF stuff yet again last fall. I have been lurking here now for a couple of months reading the forums to catch up / get a feel for the people. I like what I read feel.

Not eveyone can see new posts in projects so I wanted to blast this out to the community.
Over in the Mentalism project we are (all two of us, lol) are discussing equipment that "enhances", "blocks" or "detects" mentalism powers.

I'm not sure if you need to be a member in order to post. In either case I'd like to hear what you have to say. :-)

Besides 5 or so SFman articles I should be working on and some tricky finagling of game details for the Online game I run. Plus piddly little real world concerns like Christmas shopping.

I've suddenly had a few adventure Ideas

As a character gains levels and prestige what's he to do with all those creds?
Buy a ship? Nah. How about make a building where he can keep his gear, have an office, hang out with his minions or start a corporation.

I'm crafting a system where a character can build a building and wanted some feedback on the types of buildings you would...
    • Build as a Character?
    • How about Referee's?
Note: This system could be used to make deckplans volumetrically.

    What about the types of rooms? Here is a short list I made up;

StarFrontiersman magazine (issue 1: pg. 7 and other places) references an optional "edges & flaws system".  Does anyone know where I can find a link to this?

Time Travel and parallel universes; could you, would you use them in gaming?

I was over a friends house watching the latest star trek movie, which according to the director's commentary is a not standard time travel story. When it suddenly occured to me that the story isn't about saving a planet, star system, galaxy, or universe or even a civilization but rather the story is about saving the relationship of the original characters. It works cause people care about the characters

If there is any one product that has shamelessly revelled in time travel its Star Trek
