One thing I have been thinking about with SF is the need for maned space fighters.

    Hello all,

I'm new here and mostly play games other than Star Frontiers.  However, a few months ago, I ran a Star Frontiers game to play test the game for a review in a column called "Lost Game Safari" for Knights of the Dinner Table Magazine.  I had a great time playing "Crash on Volturnus" with people who had played little except 4th Edition D&D.  The journal can be found here:

This is Joel Bennett of the Frontier News Network, broadcasting from our isolated videocom station on Mount Rook, Gran Quivera, with an update on the disaster now being called the Mechano Plague.
I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers!

Ok I've caught Woot's hints so Starting May 14 or 21st at 8pm eastern I will be running a game in the game room (this site) using skype to speed play (for slow typers). The campaign is mapped out for 6 or more encounters- this will likely run for about 2 months. The encounters should play out in one night. Each encounters are intended to be compartmentalized in case a player misses one week so that it will not derail the game.

I'm finishing up an encounter/adventure, was thinking about challenges and wanted to give a shout out.

Adversaries are a person or group your players overcome in an adventure. Everyone thinks of NPC's, thugs and robots. But what about other obstacles and challenges? ... a narrow walk on a cliff face, a mechanical interlock on a door, software program that has an interface deflector, creature, room full of deadly toxin or even a room with a jedion357 in it. Never mind the Georgie!

I'm sitting at the computer typing sf stuff with the Tube on for background noise
Another "thrilling" episode of reality TV just ended for the "Amazing Race"

and the thought hit me: a Frontier adventure based on the Amazing race?

One problem is do you run the players head to head? The style of the TV show where one episode is one leg of the race lends itself to an rpg's typical night of gaming.

    1. run it exactly as a the TV show as if its a Frontier holo show

    or

Next Game: May 7th about 9pm EST

Gateway Enterprise is in the business of starship loans. Although they do their pest to certify their loans sometimes they get a bad apple. In this case Minsk Movers has not paid their loan in six months. It’s a simple job, travel to the ships current location and retrieve the ship. Then pilot it back to Gateway’s docking port.

If you would to play please contact the Referee.

I'm a bit of a nut for any sciency show or documentary on PBS and a while back they did one on the whole problem of living in space and its consequences for the human body

which is good since I like to entertain the fantasy of living in space

anyhow I guess the problem of muscle atrophy bothered me because I was laying in bed trying to stay asleep and my subconscious intruded and gave me an answer for the muscle atrophy in the SF setting

the answer is  1/2 workout machine 1/2 exoskeleton and 1/2 video/holo game

As a sometime fan of "House" and a non fan of other medical drama's I've been pondering the possibility of a medical based adventure. (Also influence by the presence of the MSO in the setting- Medical Services Org from Zebs)

its always great fodder for drama on TV, not so much on the silver screen.

Could a medical crisis work for a SF or any other sci fi adventure?
