    Hi all,

I have managed to find some of the old Star Frontiers/Knight Hawks mini's on the web, but one box set has eluded me - The Privateers box set (5404). If anyone knows where I can find this item, please let me know! Currently the nearest I've got has been an out of date listing on the old Dragontrove website.

    Thanx.

"But, Sir," the bosun said, regretting the words even before they left his mouth, "we don't have any thumbscrews."

"That, Bosun," the XO replied in a low, mad whisper, "is why they give us machine shops!"

Is there an explanation why the Rifle can be set higher per SEU than a pistol?
I was thinking it has to-do with the size of the crystal membranes (larger diameter or longer).

Laser Pistol - 1d10 per SEU, Setting 1-10
Laser Rifle  - 1d10 per SEU, Setting 1-20
Heavy Laser  - 1d10 per SEU, Setting 5-20

    Thoughts?

I was emailing Larry a moment ago, and I thought of a great randomization device.

Have the players roll a set of d100s at the beginning of each game session.  Number the results (1 to 10 or whatever) and then whenever a secret check needs to be made, you just check the number rolled at the beginning of the session.  Then cross out that result so it does not get picked again, and continue.

I posted a game report hoping to inspire others to do the same. I was thinking we could get a regular game report section going. What do you guys think?

At least I got to scare an alien rabbit thingy......

    Hey Shadow...

I notice that you have been posting lately.

Are you back from your travails?  Did everything work out ok?

And MOST importantly - are you ready to play "All That Glitters" online next Monday at 8?  We already have Larry, Corvus, bioreplica, and possibly even Terlobar.  4 PC would be fabulous.  5 PCs would be splendiferous.

In any case, if you are back - welcome back!

Recently we had players that really like the Star Wars universe. When questioned why it wasn't the setting or rule-set as much as, "I want a lightsaber and the ability to use force powers".

If anyone has run across this what are some ways:

    1. You have integrated these concepts into Star Frontiers.
    2. You have an idea how to integrated these concepts with Star Frontiers.

Yes, there is a test at the end of the this chapter.

What is your understanding of albedo suits and screens. Do they absorb ALL the damage from a laser weapon or 1/2 the damage (1/2 the damage gets to the wearer)?

If you have an original AD book, look at pg. 42 under Laser Pistol.

Let me know what you find.

Go check out and help write a community story that will be submitted to the Star Frontiersman. Each contributor will be credited using their sf.us user name.

So far the story is Rolling! It's gets exciting to see what will happen to our character next. Smile
He/She (not yet defined in the story) is currently at a dead end. A door is locked and he just knocked out one of his pursuers!

FTL has been discussed elsewhere in this forum but I haven't seen an original idea to really flesh out the mechanics of Void Space travel beyond calling it Star Frontier's hyperspace or quantum tunneling. So I'm asking for opinions on mine.

What I hear most say they enjoy about SF's Void Space travel is the very thing people liked about Star Frontiers itself: Simplicity. Unchallengable simplicity for lack of detailed explaination. In keeping with that try this:

Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.

Are any of the original authors, developers, of Star Frontiers involved on this site. If I recall Douglas Niles was really a big developer/author for TSR. Is anyone in contact with any of these folks from this site? It sure would be helpful to get there original idea on what was intended by some of the rules they developed especially for KH.
