Just found a Star Wars fan site that is using Star Frontiers art and converted a star frontiers module to be used for Star Wars! Could it be that the Star Frontiers revival is coming of age when other game systems are copying our material?

    http://swi.starwarsclub.org/traders/gullwind/

To be fair one look at the fat dralasite in the Dramune Run module and you know he's based off Jabba the Hutt (Jedi came out 1983 and Dramune Run came out 1984). How gratifying that SF in its infancy coppied SW and now as the SW rpg is tanking SW fans are copying SF!
I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers!

Here's the thing, from what I've seen, Zebulon's guide gets trashed and bashed quite often in forums and yahoo groups dedicated to this game. If there are defenders of Zebs they dont seem to speak up much, from what I've seen.

I'm glad Zebs came out personally and no I'm not trying to champion it.

but for the most part the majority of zebs is the new skills and equipment and that was great stuff.

This is just a list of campaign/ adventure idea that I'd like to explore beyond the printed modules.

    1. Satharmegdon -search for the sathar homeworld to bring war to the worms
    2. Mechanon Revolt
    3. Race war on Volturnus- someone has been teaching the gunpowder tech (musket rifles) to the edestkai and they've started a holy war to stop the Ul-mor from killing anymore quickdeaths.
    4. civil war- Araks rebells against the oppressive authority of Athor
    5. Dramune war
    6. Return to earth

    Will's comment about being tired of the sathar being the big baddies in another thread got me thinking;
What or who is your prefered baddie?

Currently, and partly from personal bias and partly due to events in 2008 I like the mega corps for the baddies.
Yeah I use the sathar as a "borg" race that kills without mercy and for no reason and its not personal its just what they do but the mega corps are a different breed of evil in that they (key CEO's, EVPs and CFOs) all know what they are doing is wrong or evil and do it anyway cause they're money whores.

Well we just wrapped the Crash on Volturnus module (and we aggreed to take a moth off an run some fantasy- RPG ADD) but I've been mulling over the end of the campaign and I was currious about how other GMs ended the Volturnus campaign?

    Some of my thoughts:

I'm running the Volturnus campaign using SF 2000 rules and have allow for (only 1 so far) spacer profession characters warning the player in question that with so much tied up in the prerequisite skills just to be able to pilot a hull size 3 or smaller ship that he'd be at a disadvantage (he started to figure that out in the forbidden caverns when a rastie pack attacked).

Had a character pick up some gold ornaments while raiding a rival Ul-mor tribe.
The natural question is whats it worth. Not that it can be spent on Volturnus. but I think he's determined to lug it back to civilization. I suppose I should track down that Dragon Mag article called tote that barge to see if gold was listed as a cargo but I was wondering if other GM had been confronted with this or if anyone had thoughts on non standard currency.

Maybe it could be sold to an Ifshnit.

Hi all you Knight Hawks fans out there. I'm starting up a play-by-post version of the KH Second Sathar War game (the same one I'm writing the computer program to play). If your interested in playing come on over to the Star Froniter Network forums and join in on the Second Sathar War Boardgame Campaign. We'll start playing once we have players for each side.

Did you ever wish your could put a flamethrower on the ole minivan and get that tailgater off your bumper? Or maybe, a set of twin .50 cals to take out the guy who just cut you off and hit his brakes? Well now you can, come on over to Chunk's Car Lot. At this very moment our staff of dedicated mechanics are working 'round the clock to arm and armor whatever you can push, pull, or drag on the lot. And don't mind the dog, he don't bite.

Just curious if anyone has used the SF 2000 rules for star frontiers. I'll confess up front I'm a hater of the original skills system and was disappointed with the lack of ship skills in Zebs but was delighted when I found SF 2000.
Though I wanted to tweek them already on my first reading- I ended up moving some of the PSAs around a little and tweek a few that I didn't move then did cut and paste to get all skill descriptions into the document as it only had the skills new to that document then edited the Zeb skill descriptions to make them match the AD resolution system.
