Hi! I don't expect anyone to know who I am (I barely do), so I'll just say: I'm Dr Rotwang! I heart gaming, and I have a blog. On this blog, I recently mentioned that I got a copy of SF Remastered (and Knight Hawks to go with it), and following an invitation from Bill Logan I thought I'd come over here and talk SF with the SF dudes.

I made a new set of renderings playing around with the Sathar Light Crusier Model introduced in the Daedalus Project and some organic textures. I am not entirely certain what it is but it certainly looks like trouble. It could be a Sathar genetic experiment with organic space craft technology gone horribly wrong or horribly right. Another interpretation I though of was an alien organism that had enveloped the Sathar vessel and was consuming it from the outside in. Either way its bad news.

I just read the chronocom article from SFMan, which pretty much invalidates this idea unless you play the game in an era before the development of subspace com.

    Hey all,

I mentioned a few weeks ago in another topic that it's hard to maintain excitement in a game that you never get to play, never mind how much you love it.

I, Mr. Axle, BOING, can do all for you.

I was thinking that a discussion on cybernetics would make a great contribution to the Star Frontiers game.  The skill for cybernetics was presented in the Zebulon's Guide and future editions were to address this topic with actual rules:  those never materialized.

Can a Battleship fire more than one laser battery or rocket battery in a turn. The rules sound like they can't. Doesn't make sense to me.
    Any help would be appreciated.

At least I got to scare an alien rabbit thingy......

Please post any new intel, analysis, images or tasking requests for the new UPF Spyglass Class Scout/Recon Ships which serve as mobile "listening posts" throughout the Frontier. Want to have the UPF Daedalus provide you some new intel, just submit a request and we will task our bird to your mission. All recently released classified and declassified data, intercepts, and surviellance images can be accessed here for use in your game....errr, i mean strategic simulations.

About the time that the writers of TSR were taking pen to paper in order to whip out the new Knight Hawks boxed set (and coincidently the same time the purple Star Frontiers boxed set was released), Honda had unleashed a series of motorcycles sharing a similar name. The CB450, 650, and 750 Nighthawk debuted in 1982, the latter was in production until 2003 (and prior generations of the 750 date back to the 1969 CB750K, the bike that put Japan on the motorcycle map boasting more performance and handling than anything else in its time).

I'm not overly fond of Zeb's Guide...nor do I have any qualms stating why. Tongue out
