March 2, 2009 - 9:30pm | I'm new here. So...I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this. A few days ago I found Bill Logan's website by accident. What a wounderful place. I downloaded the books. I went and got my old Star Frontiers Box out of the garage - it is the original blue box set - not Alpha Dawn. I have had the SFAD book from Bill's website printed and am reading it now. |
![]() March 1, 2009 - 2:01am | Wow! I'm surprised that a game as old Star fFontiers still has such an... organized... fan base. I was cleaning out my library and deciding which of my old roleplaying games I should toss out, but this site has me wanting to play it again! I actually devised a fairly substantial set of house rules for Star Frontiers a few years ago. Would anyone be interested in me posting them? |
![]() February 27, 2009 - 10:54am | I quit playing Evercrack over Sony's total mismanagement of the product. and never bothered with WOW seeing as how those games tend to eat up 8hrs/day 7days/week and jack the spouse out of shape. I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
February 24, 2009 - 2:46pm | One of the hallmarks of space opera sci-fi, to me, is alien, non-human races. The races of Star Frontiers have always been a source of concern for me. On the one hand, I love the fact that they aren't just "humans with funny foreheads (a la Star Trek). On the other hand, many of the races are just... ugh. Yazirians - flying monkey-men? Dralasites - blobs. Ifshnits - dwarves! in! Long live the Frontier! |
February 19, 2009 - 5:01pm | Over at the Deck Plans project (check it out if you haven't seen it yet) I have posted info on UPF frigate and destroyer deck plans. |
![]() February 13, 2009 - 9:15pm | I'm slowing working on Frontier Battles (between the Star Frontiersman and FrontierSpace(TM)) and wanted some ideas for an abstracted combat resolution system. Refer to: Engagement Rules and Combat Resolution |
![]() February 9, 2009 - 7:45am | Back in the early '80s, when Steve Jackson still owned Space Gamer, there was an adventure in that magazine for Traveller (i dont have the mag and tried to buy a few space gamers off ebay but cant find this adventure any more). the idea was that a group of humans who had travelled to planet x and backslid into barbarism and had been rebuilding their knowledge and tech base back up to at the point the equiv of earth's tech in the 1960s. I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
January 31, 2009 - 7:42pm | Outside of the Star Devils and the Malthar's Syndicate, are there any organized criminal groups on the Frontier? Any one create new ones for their games? Long live the Frontier! |
![]() January 25, 2009 - 8:04am | Only TSR could get away with an alien designed from a toilet paper roll. and you know who I'm talking about. SF1 the roller It was always my least favorite volturunus animal. How could an animal grow or evolve with a moving part like that? It just strikes me as silly. Anyway the point of this post is I was wondering is anyone redesigned the roller into a saner more plausible animal? I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
