April 8, 2009 - 11:20am | I recently have been mulling over some new tech in my mind... Initially, this was simply a way to consider how a PC could fire a rifle from a cycle, but it has expanded. I was thinking about a computer system added to vehicles that allows some sort of ground "auto pilot". That way, the driver of a vehicle could do other things (such as fire a two handed weapon or even a heavy weapon) rather than focusing on driving the vehicle. |
![]() April 2, 2009 - 11:52pm | In SF-0 Crash on Volturnus page 11 (in the original) titled "Player Character's Background Report" at the very bottom of the page beneath the bios of the missing expeditions is this statement: "Truane's Star has found itself short of personnel and funds due to colonial troubles and associated police action on Cygnus Omicron IX recently, They have hired you, a team of unkown adventurers....." First question: where is Cygnus Omicron IX? I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |

March 29, 2009 - 5:50pm | Part of the attraction for Star Frontiers for a lot of people is the 1980's version of future tech that it plays with. That's cool and I can definitely see the attraction. Is there a spot, either a project, or another thread, where folks are discussing modernizing the science, not just explaining the science of the core rules, but expanding or modifying it to take into account things like the internet, genetic science, biological computers, un-manned fighters, or other things that have been developed since the game was first imagined? |
![]() March 25, 2009 - 9:44pm | This is in response to a query elsewhere (montoya) concerning city based and CSI style adventures: First off you can mine the treasure tables site, even though it has no new content what it already has is phenominal in breadth: http://www.treasuretables.org/ in particular this article was really good: http://www.treasuretables.org/2006/10/the-octopus-a-model-for-urban-campaigns or you could try the associated forum at "You meet in a Tavern": http://www.youmeetinatavern.com/ I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |

![]() March 25, 2009 - 1:07am | Couple of questions here power usage on the parabattery for robots? I dont beleive the rules address this so any ideas? house rules? while on topic power usage by vehicles? I think I remember something about a 1000 mile range on one fully charge battery. I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
![]() March 22, 2009 - 1:19pm | cannon rules say a PC can carry 1/2 or less of his STR in kg in 1g of gravity and still make a full move is it specified anywhere what a robot can carry? presumably hvy duty robot bodies can carry a lot since they're used for construction and mining I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
March 22, 2009 - 9:35am | All this carrier talk has got me thinking about yet another wrinkle in the KH rules: What about repair of recovered fighters? My idea is this: the Assault Carrier can "loan" its own DCR points to any fighters in its bay. The only problem with this is that what if the fighters just flew in last turn, and the Repair Phase is coming up? Should a fighter be able to benefit from being in the Carrier bay for just one turn or should it have to be in there for all 3 to get the full benefit of the Carrier DCR assistance? |
