One of the most common tropes in science fiction is sophisticated interaction with cetaceans (dolphins, whales, orcas, etc.).

Dolphins were written up as a PC species for Traveller.

The RPG Blue Planet features dolphins & orcas as PCs.  They have sonar-based technology.

Dolphins & orcas are members of the Federation in Star Trek, and there are several on board the Enterprise-D, working in the navigation department (according to the technical manual).  They are even mentioned there in one episode of TNG.

There isn't a lot of information about the Tetrarchs in AD or other source material, so we've each had to fill in the blanks ourselves.

One direction that I've taken it is similar to that of the Ancients from Stargate, or the Progenitors/Preservers in Star Trek.  They "planted" or "seeded" various species groups on different planets throughout space.

So, you could find cultures of the core four (and Zeb species) on multiple planets, at different levels of civilization, and with slight-to-major variations in culture.

I'm running Star Frontiers and BareBones (Jeremy is running BBF as well) at U-Con if you're in the area.

Pre Gens provided. Unless you'd like me to kill your PC.

I got conned into playing a game of Fiasco last night. Long story short, it didn't end well. It never does. It was awesome fun. Anyone play Fiasco? Interested in running with a Star Frontiers slant?

Downloads give you an idea of the table structure.

    Stick with me on this.

I am getting ready to do the NaNoWriMo (look that up yourself) and doing an SF story. Since the starships do not land on planets, started thinking of what those left on the ship might be doing while the cool characters are dirtside having all the fun.

With grand-kids I have been watching alot of Jake and the Neverland Pirates. I started thinking those lazy pirates never do any real work on their ship like scrubbing the decks, sewing the sails or scraping the barnacles of the bottom of the ship.
Sounds like a great job but where did you say we had to go?

I've been taking a little break in my campaign with my kids to get ready to come at it from a new angle. I've been heavily influenced as of late by this series of articles and am rethinking my approach to include different characters played by my kids to look at a larger story from a variety of perspectives. I talk about it at length in this thread but have had a recent thought inspired by my nine year old son:

Is there a source for info on the Klikks (canon first) outside of the Starmist module?

I'd also love to hear of how others use them in their campaign backstory.

I'm trying to gather information for a project.

    Thanks

Years ago, there was a website called Star Frontiers 654.  It seems to be gone now, and I can find no mention of it anywhere.

On that site, there was an alien species known as the Thyrann.  Does anyone have any information about the Thyrann, Star Frontiers 654, or the creator of this site/species?

In a setting with mentalism and the Clear Thinker's Cadre:
    http://www.starfrontiers.us/node/4556
as well as the Free Thinkers cadre

and greedy mega corps as well as hazy government institutions the game is ripe for an adventure based on the Drew Barrymore, George C Scott movie Fire Starter, complete with the "shop" and LOT-6
I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers!
