![]() December 4, 2012 - 4:18am | I'm curious, what would be the effects of shooting the various weapons of SF under water? I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
November 25, 2012 - 11:12am | OK my happy creative legions here's a question that is bothering me as it is not really covered in the canon material (for this one I am including Zeb's). The Megacorps are supposedly just as powerful as most of the established planets with all their buying and selling and service providing. While most of them is pretty obvious what is going on, three of them have me a little stumped: Sounds like a great job but where did you say we had to go? |
November 25, 2012 - 10:51am | Just like in the movies almost all PCs speak the same language with near perfect diction. Just to mix things up a bit we all know our lovable Dralasites speak their own language and it uses shapes and scents. So I was wondering when a Dralasite learns to speak Pan-Galactic how much of his/her/its accent would they carry over to it. Or more simply put how much of pleasant or unpleasant odors do Dralasites release when talking to others races in Pan-Galactic or the other races' native language? Sounds like a great job but where did you say we had to go? |
![]() November 21, 2012 - 8:35am | for further inpeth reading on timeline issues related to this topic: http://www.starfrontiers.us/node/5895#comment-23223 I've come to a conclussion on how I plan to handle Zebulon and the eorna hence forth in the future Since Zebulon still has a govenor at FY105, presumably appointed by the COW of the UPF it is a UPF territory much like something form Earth history, Peurto Rico comes to mind but perhaps another historic model might turn up that is better. I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |

If you use Bill's article in Star Frontiersman #1, Experience Points this handy pocketmod helps keep track of XP in your gaming sessions. PocketModversion. Page version. |
![]() November 17, 2012 - 12:26am | The old AD advanced rulebook have notes about lifespan and method of procreation, but dose not list things like average age of sexual development (puberty), age of adulthood (where one is considered an independent person, rational enough to make one's own life-chooses), length (and stages) of gestation or equivalent (e.g. How long dose it takes for a Vrusk to hatch from it's egg?), and so on. This post is about figuring these things out, and figuring out additional, easily overlooked info about it (e.g. |
![]() November 16, 2012 - 10:10pm | Played SF with the kids tonight. With some guidance from the CFM they found a system which had been colonized by the Eorna before the sathar attacks. Their city was underground, and they had modified one of the indigineous species to protect them. The kids stumbled into a nest of them on the surface in a destroyed starport before they escaped...![]() |
![]() November 15, 2012 - 9:36am | I know that there are certain problems with the concept of a dyson sphere like if its spinning all the material on the inside of the hull will pool at the equator. The reason to spin it would be for simulated gravity but the tech to build such a construct would be in the realm of god tech/ magic and hence artifical gravity becomes plausible. So what if it didnt spin? And artifical grav was in play. Would this not make a dyson sphere more plausible? Other than the god awful ammount of material it takes to build one. I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
November 11, 2012 - 8:48pm | Late at night I was looking through the Frontier Explorer #1 and something about the article on Lossend through me. So going back over all the SF I could think of I finally found what I was looking for in an old Dragon Magazine. (I have no life). Seems at one time a fleet of ships arrived around Thesesus and was found to contain the entire alien race of Saurians in suspended animation. Finishing the article it mentioned that the UPF had decided that they could not fit any more Saurians on Thesesus and thought it best to send them to Lossend. All 50,000 of them. Sounds like a great job but where did you say we had to go? |
