![]() November 9, 2012 - 11:37pm | I'm getting back to my online Star Frontiers game at the end of this month, about the same time SFman #19 comes out. I have three regular players (one's been bugging me to run a game so his character can get parts for his ship!!). If you'd like to join ping me on G+ or PM. We'll be playing on G+ or Roll20.net Character creation begins 30 min prior to game (unless you've already played in one of my games) w00t! |
![]() November 9, 2012 - 5:46pm | The girls are at Girl Scouts for 1.5 hours, I enjoying a surprisingly nice glass of Chilean wine - thats not to say Chile's wines are crap just this one was a cut above, and I'm trying to wrap my head around diplomacy when this idea hit me. What if dissidents on Hentz got their hands on a subspace radio and beamed news and commentary out of the Araks syatem? Radio Free Hentz via sub space. They record in audio only and broadcast to Gran Quivera and Yast (no video as a security measure). Naturally Fo1 is pulling its mane out pver this. I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
![]() November 8, 2012 - 10:09am | Brainstorming ideas, all ideas welcome, feedback is important: kicking around ideas for a new adventure for the crew of the CFMS Venture (Mooks awithout Number) and thought it should be diplomacy based with limited or toned down combat. Looking for ideas for encounters, challenges, plot, bad guys. Open to anything though my first idea was to center the story on Clarion and involve some of the upper crust but I have no commitment to that. I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
![]() November 8, 2012 - 5:01am | I was thinking about how the sathar have to negotiate differently with the mechanon this morning. They just cant dominated them in the usual way and look them in the eye and turn them into a sathar agent. Must be a new experience for them to negotiate the old fashioned way. Which would involve sending an envoy to the mechanons. This sounds interesting to me. I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
November 6, 2012 - 10:43am | My hat is off to you guys for such a great product. I just started my kids on the Mooks adventure (vol 1) last weekend and had a great time. Jedion, I'd like to share details with you but didn't know if I should air it here or in PM. It was hysterical though. I appreciate the serialized game with the corresponding data (planetary in this case) to help me sell it. Btw, Jedion, I would be interested in a Con out your way but I am unable to commit to it so far in advance. |
![]() November 3, 2012 - 3:16am | I've been having a lot of fun experimenting with non-linear storytelling in my kids campaign. Instead of going with the gritty, high mortality war gaming style of role playing with my kids I've been focusing a lot more on story and character driven, heroic type play. I mean if my kids are going to sit at a table instead of playing video games, they get to save the universe, you know? |
![]() October 26, 2012 - 2:27pm | If you're on Inner Reach and searching for a nice vrusk resturant you might have to travel globally. I can imaging the On Net station would look something like this; |
![]() October 21, 2012 - 6:48am | I have been thinking about how differently SF would be if there was no shadowy adversary like the Sathar, nor a major multilateral government force like the UPF. |
![]() October 21, 2012 - 6:29am | If there was a search feature I'd check to see if this question has already been done. Something has just hit my mind about needler weapons. Why are the needler weapons in SF so lame where other sci-fi games and in some stories these things are some of the nastiest weapons you'll come across. HALO the needler is a high rate of fire weapon. Warhammer 40K these things are deadly sniper weapons. So why does SF rules make needlers so weak, not even useful against skiensuits or inertia screens. In every age, in every place, the deeds of men remain the same. |
![]() October 19, 2012 - 6:16am | Was wondering in the shower about the source of the UPF's knowledge about the klikks- The starmist mod has a story arc and doesn't go into deep detail about the klikks- where did the name klikk come from anyway? Was it the name used by the brain wiped heliopes? Could be they were brain wiped. How do we even know they were brainwiped? And just why were the sathar there anyway? I know the module give an excuse but really are we going to buy that? I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
