I grew up on a SAC base with KC135s, which was also the plane my Dad happened to do maintenance on so I may just be sentimental about this.

That said I was thinking about support ships in another project and it occured to me that the Frontier could have a tanker. Shadow has argued that chem drive ships can certainly reach jump speed with enough fuel bunkerage. naturally a chem drive ship even with enough bunkerage could still find itself in need of a top off of fuel at the other end of the jump, especially if it was forced to do some manuevering.

Maybe this was covered somewhere so let me know.

Age of Assumption the age at which a being is considered responsible and can assume their place in society.

Currently in the US this is a little confusing since you can vote and jion the military at 18 but can not buy alcohol until 21 and can not rent a car until 25. Marrying varies between 16 and 18 by state. But for argument sake let's use 18. Mainly because that is the age your education ends and they tell you to start living your own life because you are supposedly prepared.
Sounds like a great job but where did you say we had to go?

Thinking about how we have a standing army and National Guard and Reserve units and it doesn't figure that Clarion has a huge standing army either.

So I got thinking about the clarion version of the reserve: the Yeomanry. Tehy are citizens that train in their spare time and can be activated in times of emergency or disaster.

i like the idea of calling this organization the Yeomanry of Clarion or simply the Yeomanry.

Its sort of a civic duty thing but can be used to flesh out the Royal Guard in a hurry.

I was considering creating a Cat Like humonoid race to be and adversary to Frontier People and the Sathar... I was planning on placing them to the left of the Frontier In acordance to the Alpha Dawn Map. Off the AD map of course. And I just read about The Adrainians in SFman#19. They are very close to what I was thinking of.... Wow. Now I have to think of something new and different....

I am of course reading this issue late, because I have ben busy for many many months with Real Life. Lots o work to do lately.
The bombing starts in five minutes.

This is something for developing cities on the Frontier Worlds

While listening to an NPR broadcast about President Obama's trip to Africa (NO political comments please) it mentioned that parts of Africa are very non-tech. Like only 1/3 of Africans have regular access to electricity. Now they are trying to bring those areas into the modern world.

We're so use to the classic PC start in many RPGs where the PCs start as nobodies with nothing much to distinguish them.

In D&D it was low starting hit points
In SF it was just two starting skills and no equipment to speak of.

So the recent discovery of this book: http://www.amazon.com/Redshirts-A-Novel-Three-Codas/dp/1469298279 got me thinking about unexpected or out side the box PC backgrounds because the red shirts were disposable and making them the hero was unexpected.

Based on realistic technology of the past century the Cold War almost gave us under sea naval bases.

Planets that come to mind in the SF universe are Faire with its five islands/water world- CFM has a secret bunker deep in the bed rock against possible sathar attack in their system.

Clarion is very wet  but would the Crown foot the bill for this?

None of the yazirian colonies strike me as doing this sort of thing.

What is the relationship between the kurabunda and the quickdeath?

the other 2 primitive races have integrated the quickdeath into their culture. The edestakai worship it as their god of justice and the Ul-mor use hunting and killing it as their "rite of manhood"
