![]() July 15, 2014 - 4:58pm | Star Law agents kind of come across as goody two shoes, all spit and polish with the might of 10 men because of their superior moral and upstanding righteousness. But do you really want to play a Star Law marshal? The Frontier still has some wild and wooly places and why not a "marshal" or lone ranger on the classic western theme? I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |

Planning a mission for my Space Fleet crew where they will land an assault scout in a hostile landing zone to deliver supplies and munitions to a pro-UPF rebellion along with a Land Fleet special forces trainer. ----------------------------------------------- |

![]() June 16, 2014 - 8:26am | Is some of the Bolo novels/short story compilations a bolo is powered down and scrapped but since the armor is what it is the tank is simply abandoned. Then occassionally something causes a reboot of the higher brain functions of the AI and these scrapped tanks will endeavor to fulfill their missiion to protect humanity. In one story an irradiated bolo had been ordered to power down and a concrete sarcophagus was built around it. I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |

![]() June 7, 2014 - 5:33pm | There was a post of a generic module designed to be run with Star Frontiers rules called Digital Gods and it got me thinking about HOW you could get religious robots. The human homeworld (that sent humans to the Frontier) also sent out another expedition. This expedition had a cutting edge AI/robotic brain whose purpose was to monitor and manage the space flight while its human crew and passengers remained in cryo. ![]() June 4, 2014 - 2:04pm | I was just reading a Dragon from 1990 "Curses Are Divine" and started wondering about curses in sf- you'd think no not possible but... A curse would be initiated by an all powerful, and omnipresent entity and I can think of a few such entities existing in star frontiers. A megacorp, the AI hinted to be running NET corporatioin out of Cassidine, even space fleet could be considered to have cursed an officer that has been kicked out. Removing such a curse would certainly involve a "quest". What would be the effects of such a curse? How woiuld it opperate in game or setting? I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
![]() June 3, 2014 - 5:54am | I've not been a big horror fan but I loved the stories that ran in the SFman that had the Cthulu vibe going (One was called "Bug Hunt" IIRC) The movie Alien was a masterwork of horror in its time and really had left me tense. It was not the slash and gore flick of the Freddy Krugar ilk but more of a throw back to classic horror. Sure the chest burster scene had gore but it was interesting. Horror is certainly not alien to sci fi. Even Disney's The Black Hole had a strong gothic horror vibe going which was certainly intentional. I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
June 2, 2014 - 4:06pm | Often when a character walks into a local bar, the player in question puts forth some general pose about ordering 'a drink' and the RP moves on from there. I thought that maybe it would be nice to have a selection of beverages that would help define some of the various races and, in turn, help a player define their character. Now, I haven't put a whole lot of thought into this - mainly it is just for fun. I have only covered the core races from AD and the 3 biological races from ZEBs and only to the extent that each races has two beverage examples. Dralasite: I don't have to outrun that nasty beast my friend...I just have to outrun you! ![]() |

The last remnants of the United Planetary Federation have been swept away forever. General Yaz: "But that's impossible, how will the Chancelor maintain control of the Frontier sector without the bureaucracy?"
