This article examines the growing attendance at "geek" events.

Favorite quote: Or to put it another way, the geeks have inherited the Earth...and it's starting to become very crowded.

If you guys remember SOPA, this one is about net neutrality. For those who don't know, net neutrality allows for all net traffic to be treated equal. Without it, large companies can come in and prioritize traffic akin to high-speed toll roads, at the cost of all other net traffic. That would mean you'll have to pay extra to watch YouTube or Netflix (on top of what you'll pay for their service) at speeds you get automatically right now.

Sorry, its not Star Frontiers but one can hope, right?

You've probably heard the news that Star Wars is back and that's not all, the lion share of the original cast is back as well. So how do you feel about it? Hopefull?

    Or not?

    The Fuzzy Papers wrote:
Some fifty million years ago there had existed a marine life form, something like a jelly fish. As these died they sunk into the sea bottom ooze; sand covered the ooze and pressed it tighter and tighter; until it became glassy flint, and the entomed jelly fish little beans of dense stone. Some of them by some ancient biochemical quirk, were intensely thermoflourescent; worn as gems they glowed from the wearer's body heat. On Terra a single pollished sunstone was worth a small fortune.
These are mined from sandstone and I like them for treasure items.

I just wanted to publically state that an article I wrote back in SFman #18 "The Yazirian Files" failed to give credit to Iggy/Eric for his Legend of the First Clan story that was included under the section header "Yazirian files".

I was no longer involved in the production of the SFman zine and just didn't spot that oversight at the time of publication. As it stands it appears in the zine that I wrote that story and this is not true.

I was wondering if you chaps would be interested in this snippet of a Star Frontiers game that was tape-recorded in 1987. We often recorded our RPG sessions, although rarely the ones that were more serious and organised (i.e. Call of Cthulhu). Just bear in mind that it's a bunch of 14-17 year olds yelling at each other Wink

The snippet is part of a track list here:
