I was looking at the Star Frontiers entry on the tvtopes.org and came across information that said Star Frontiers races appeared in Spelljammer. Since I never played Spelljammer, I did not know this.

So check out the many images available for those races:

Took the kids to the library and came across Gerry Anderson's Space Precinct.

Got it just because it might have had something interesting to poach for a Star Law adventure.

picked up the first season at the library, was looking forward to binge watching a sci fi series but.....

    not hooked by the pilot.

and now I wikipedia it and learn that there are a total of 8 alien races to keep track of ... not sure I'm going to watch this series in fact episode 2 is about to be shut off and I'll just go to bed.

Anyone else have the same lack luster reaction to this series?

    Trying to develop this Acronym:

    Sathar Posting Assinine Material M-? E-? R-?

    Ideas?

Note a good acronym will have uses in other areas outside SF where sathar is easily subsituted for something beginning with S like S___head and so on.

This is a place holder thread for compiling quotes by Gygax

Just found this interesting quote from Gygax in Dragon #248 (22 aniversary of Gary founding Dragon magazine)

I suppose its pretty much a definitive comment by him on the Hickman revolution and the later trend toward story RPGs. The comment was occassioned on an inquery to TSR bringing back the Greyhawk setting that he had created.

So I'm thinking of getting my 9year old son to play SF in some kind of small scale adventure.

He's been playing Hero Clix and AGTFOS with me lately so I was wondering if he is ready for an RPG.

What sort of game ideas might you try with such a young person?  I don't know how his mother would feel if I let him kill bad guys... meh...

Watching Secrets of the Dead: The Silver Pharoah, and a statement caught me: tomb raiders were notoriously successful in ferreting out the location of tombs, even better than archaeologist

So what if in a fantasy setting a civilization embraced necromancy to protect their tombs, and of course traps as well.

You'd then get tomb raiders seeking out the services of a cleric to deal with the undead but do the ethics of the cleric interfere with him taking the job? or is he happy to send vile abominations back to the abyss because necromancy is evil and vile?

Well the girls had been enjoying Top Gun and calling it Danger Zone (the movie) and asking me to play Danger Zone (the game- which was really KHs). Once the 4th of July hits my job gets slow and I've stopped bothering to show up on Sunday afternoons thus we did church, lunch and then wandered over to the Hobby Bunker to use a wargaming table and play KHs. The bunker was kind of crowded with 10 people painting minis at 2 table and about another 10-12 playing games at 5 other tables. We were lucky to get a table as the game on the table we used had just wrapped up.

I've been using the library and used book stores to get back to reading this year and have discovered some real gems.
