What, if any, free gear do you give to starting characters?

    Skein suit?

    Tool Kit?

entry level weapons from SFman #1?

I've been detailing star systems, denoting planets that are habitable as well as those that are candidates for terraforming. I believe that alpha dawn refers to GodCo as being in the terrafroming business, but is there any officially terraformed world in alpha dawn?

I've been reading a Traveller module where a corporate exec refused to pay the PCs based on a vague non performance clause which I thought was interesting. It got me wondering what are some other corporate diry tricks:

    1. espionage is obvious

    2. sabotage of competitors is obvious

    3. using vague non performance clause to fire and not pay was mentioned.

    4. using strict interpretation of vague company rules or policies to fire anyone considered a problem

Read a recommendation on this module and tracked it down on ebay (Mint condition $9 with shipping though its so mint that it almost has to be a reprint).

Murder mystery module and has a lot of information on setting up a murder mystery.

From my reading i think its easy enough to adapt to any setting.

The module has high replayability in that the referee chooses which of 9 suspects could be the murderer and provision is there for new referee created suspects to be included. There is also a chapter on the PC as the murderer.

Is making an insectoid race with an honor/warrior culture (akin to Yazirians) too cliche?  I'm not necessarly talking about for Star Frontiers but for sci-fi in general? What are your thoughts and why?

So I've been thinking a bit about this lately and wanted to get your ideas on it.  What factors, influences, and/or conditions would work to limit the rate of technological advance of a modern (already technological) society over long timescales (i.e. decades/centuries).  What could cause the technology to remain relatively stagnant for decades?  I have some ideas and want to hear yours.  Chime in below.

Below is all that I can find. Please post anymore that you know of.

    Prisons of the Frontier:

Cassidine system, Canberra planet – The 3rd moon is a penal colony.

Theseus system, Oedipus planet – This is a large, frozen world with a dense atmosphere of methane, ammonia and carbon dioxide. A monitoring station, Creon, is located on the northern hemisphere. A penal colony, Jocasta Base, is also nearby.

Warcraft the movie is in post production. As long as it doesn't tank or such too much can Starcraft the movie be far behind?

Reading up on a world with a SO2 sea and by extention a SO2 atmosphere. There would lots of extra sulfer as a sink for oxygen with some of the shores being "beaches" of sulfer.

A possible life cycle could be plants creating SO3 (thru photosynthysis) and animals that convert SO3 back to SO2.

Most likely no higher animals. No free oxygen would mean no fire. A would be a civilization would be trapped in the stone age even if there were sapients.

Hey all - I have been playing the Stars Without Number adventure "Hard Light" with my kids as a part of our ongoing Star Frontiers campaign. I just wanted to say that it's a pretty great little sandbox kind of setting. I know I tend to go more outside of canon than most here on .us, but I think this "module" would work really well in a more traditional setup.
