    there was a recent thread on Starting Gear:
    http://www.starfrontiers.us/node/8351

    There is now a question on G+:
    https://plus.google.com/u/0/communities/100477460519433187114
    about cybernetics in a SF game and it got me thinking-

    Could not a starting character begin play with a cybernetic implant?
    I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers!

    It's been out for about a week for anyone that hasn't seen it yet:

    I'm not overly fond of Zeb's Guide...nor do I have any qualms stating why. Tongue out

    So.... as I'v seen TO point out... the math doesn't work.

    1ADF = 1,700 g force
    2ADF = 3,401 g force
    3ADF = 5,102 g force
    4ADF = 6,802 g force
    5ADF = 8,503 g force

    (rounded to the nearest g)

    So we all handwave the reality breaking nature of movement on the hex map right?  Cause even one ADF acceleration would kill anybody on the ship.

    Stumbled across this blog post on the tyrany of thought police in science fiction today

    It feels like Political correctness running wild to me.

    breif excerpt post here:

    Many years ago a BBC sci-fi comedy Red Dwarf had an alien race (genetically engineered) that was called Psirens, this race of creatures lured ships into an asteroid field, getting ships to land or crash so they could scavenge the ships and eat the brains of the crews.

    These Giant biped Insect looking creatures used psionic abilities to appear as people they are not and to deceive the crews... often tapping into peoples memories, fantasies and emotional drives to manipulate them and create illusions.

    So I need to come up with 30 or so... i guess, 30 - my PCs so 24...

    I need to come up with 24 crew names.  I've created a XLS macro to randomly pick race, gender, role stats (and randomly shift between attibute pairs) and caluculate things like PS and IM, and the RW% and MW%

    But it can't come up with names for me.  And Vrusk Names are the worst... My random crew has 6 vrusk females and one male (one PC is a male Vrusk)

    Wanna name them?

    so far I have for the lady Vrusk

    Hello Everyone,
                      I am new to the fourms and to star Frontiers, but I have been gaming for about 30 years. Is there a 'players handbook'? Something that has the character creation rules and nothing else? I want to run a play by post and it would be nice to have the players download a book without any of the adventures in them. Is there a beginning adventure, something to let me cut my teeth and the teeth of my players?

    Okay it is a theme in sci-fi, the crashed alien ship, or crash landing on an alien planet... (I even had a book as a child that was nothing but great sci-fi art of crashed spaceships with a story behind each one of them, I really wish I could remember the title and find a used copy today.)

    Looking for an excuse to submit this to the zine

    All I've come up with so far is to make them a possible opponent:

     The dance troupe known as Dark World Dancers is a really a group of assassins posing as dancers.
