 September 19, 2015 - 2:53pm | Dunno if the rest of you all have seen that "Golf commentators wisper, its what they do" commercial. I kind of get a kick out of it every time its on and I'm not even sure what the ad is for, Gieco maybe. Anyhow it reminded me of the stupid pod race in the Star Wars prequels. A "game or sporting event" played out but with actual tactical encounters. Star Spawn of Volturnus had some of this- the kurabunda hang glider hunt of the rollers and the great game of the ul-mor. August 21, 2015 - 5:40am | In the Confederate States of America the currency was backed by cotton. The Confederacy gambled that they'd be victorious and could make good on printed money. Inflation went wild when Northerners started printing Confederate currency and circulating it in the South. So if you collected Confederate currency is it real or is it counterfeit? August 20, 2015 - 6:36am | Sometimes you get a name and bang you instantly have an NPC-. For example, my senior year of high school someone said to me, "fill up the jug" but I heard "Phillip the Jug" and bang I had a hard drinking dwarf NPC who travelled with a mule lugging a small keg and he always had a jug in hand an look out you if he was forced to smash his jug over your head. That is, say you had character Abc that played long enough to retire, so you say/write something about "marries NPC Xyz, has kids, bought a house on Gran Quivera." Some later game, you play the son/daughter of Abc & Xyz. And maybe that one's child. |
