A light has gone out in the universe and Spock has left us.

I loved his reprise of his role in the new Star Trek where he says to Zachery Quinto playing a younger Spock: "Since my customary farwell would seem oddly self serving I will simply say, 'Good luck.'"
I thought that was a great farwell to Star Trek fandom.

I was thinking about the TNG episode Tin Man and Farescape and creatures that live in Space. Would their radar profile significantly difer from that of a std. Starship? Energy sensor detection- IR should turn up the ship but would such a ship/creature only read as a sensor ghost at med to long range?

It just occured to me that something like this symbol would work well for the Rim Coalition or the Flight:
Representing 3 distinct entites coming together for mutual defense and protection. Naturally, enough you can't use this but its a good beginning for developing a symbol for the Rim.

Sometimes you find the oddest things in the timeline, I openned the book and my eyes fell on this:

    Zebulon's Guide wrote:
81FY Sathar Fleet 1 attacks Madderly's Star. They encounter the new Spacefleet fortress Kdikit. Its resistance is fierce and buys the needed time for reinforcements to arrive. Dramune sends three frigates and a destroyer from its militia while the UPF dispatches two destroyers and two light cruisers from its non-attached ships roster.

Right away some things and questions jump out at me:

My dream is to fly to wherever the supposed Grey Aliens are from. I will leave geometric shapes in thier crops; then quietly fly back to Earth. I will not say a word to them.

    Take That.

I had never heard of the Cursed polish anti-communists partisans
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cursed_soldiers

naturally enough I've heard of Japanese Holdouts:

especially since they entered into popular culture in TV and movies.

I think Japanese Holdout soldiers are a good model for sathar stranded within the Frontier after the 1st and 2nd sathar wars.

I have several hard copies of FE and SFMan. A few years ago when I had a job with access to good printers, I went a little crazy making some hard copies. I like hard copies over digital at times just for the fact of getting away from the computer. Most of them are 3 hole punched also.

I was wondering if anyone would want my extra hard copies before I send them to the recycle bin?

    I have:
    FE 3 in color
FE 4 in color but it is the printer friendly version
    SFM 1-11 in b&w
    SFM 1-14 in color

One page arguement for Gandolf being low level. Author analyzes the displayed powers of Gandolf (and Sauron) viewed against the D&D magic system and makes a case for Gandolf being only a 5th level Wizard.

Watching a documentary on sinkholes and in particular on Bayous Corne sinkhole:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bayou_Corne_sinkhole

This could be a blue print for a corporation behaving badly and putting a colony at risk.

    EDIT:

Residents were noticing lots of bubbles in the bayous near natural gas pipelines.
PCs are recruited to investigate and rule out possibilities of rottting vegitation producing the bubbles and natural gas.

Earthquakes and sinkhole activity lead to the collapsing salt dome.
