![]() October 3, 2019 - 8:59am | Classic Traveller is my go to game for Science Fiction, but I do have an affection for Star Frontiers ... How do I or should I make a distinction between the two games to give them an identity, feel, and scope from each other scenario-wise? |
![]() September 26, 2019 - 9:50am | The vrusk who go in for physical confrontation like using the vrusk version of what humans use to use for weighting a hand for throughing a punch. Historical records refer to a mysterious object called a roll of nickles but may also be related to brass knuckle, saps and black jacks. I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
![]() August 19, 2019 - 1:49pm | Just created a fire fighing bot for home brew game but it was actually a combat robot disquised as a fire fighting bot and further modified to have a suicide charage of 100 kg of TD 19 in its chest plus a search and destroy program to seek a specific corpse in the morgue/crime lab and "rescue" it from the fire- if able to make off with the corpse the corpse will disappear as a measure to destroy evidence but if the bot runs into resistance then it will self destruct clutching the corpse to its chest. Heavy Population colonies: individual cities may cover hundreds of square kilometers
Heavy population. Individual cities maybe considered "maxi-cities" covering hundreds of square kilometers
For comparison New York is the largest city in the world by area at 8,683 square kilometers. I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
![]() August 18, 2019 - 1:13pm | Alright, fiancee wants to play Star Frontiers and its just us right now so I'm working up a CSI Port Loren investigative game. (one reason is she's a junky for CSI and true crime sort of shows and pod casts). Benefits are that you are in Port Loren and can have more or less instant resupply and somewhat speedy back up in the form or local patrol officers. I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |

![]() June 7, 2019 - 5:11am | Note this is not really about the setting 1000 years in the future but it is about centuries in the future Saw a game premise posted that involved a game set 1000 years in the future and thought ok what if a ship (assault scout or frigate) was trapped in a (engage universal translator and translate to Star Trek technobabble) "temporal anomaly" and it finally escapes but its centuries in the future. The Frontier was over run by the Sathar not long after FY111. I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
![]() April 4, 2019 - 5:22pm | Caveat: there is now a finished article Evaluating the canonicity of Villians of Volturnis in the magazine submission cue. This thread stems from working on the same thing with Captive Planet. Protagonist is son of 2 scientist technicians working for the company, PGC on New Pale. He has been invited to the "Computer Institute" on Gran Quivera which happens to be housed in PGC building. New Pale is described as a PGC colony. February 28, 2019 - 6:06pm | I've got a bit of a quandry here as I'm working on finishing up yet another story submission to the magazine. What to do about vehicle structure points. Allow me to explain. Joe Cabadas |
