Okay so I was thinking that I can use counters but I could also make some little paper monsters and people or go with some homemade wire and fimo/sculptey people. Which then got me wondering about the scale actually used on the few critter/people figurines made for SF. Has anyone measured them?

I never ever saw this but if I had been a kid living at home when the movie came out it would not have surprised me to find this in my Christmas stocking.

Its not surprising that it made the list of 9 most illogical pieces of Star Trek merchandising

The pirates of Volturnus would be called slavers. In the Venture adventure in the first 3 issues if the FE they were extorting poor farmers. Could it be that the word pirate has a broader meaning in the Frontier? That it simply applies to and group of thugs with a star ship. This difference of meaning could be from differences of meaning in the native langauges of the core four. And in Pan Gal its simply used for any group of lawless thugs with a star ship or the ability to travel on an interstellar level.

Thread on known SF names but also ideas for naming new ships and how cultures might go about it and also anything useful from sci-fi or real life... including history and lore.

The Flying Dutchman story must have a Spacer version for instance.

Arrgg, laugh at me if you will. I did not see this coming.

My kids love the first of the Hobbit movies and I promised them we'd go to the second at Christmas time (same as we did last Christmas). So I just happenned to be flush with a generours tip and the kids had a small victory that was worth celebrating and work let me go early at 2pm. So when I picked them up at the after school program I decided to just go ahead and take them to the movies.

First off he reveals that the art department got next to no notice on the Star Frontiers game and that he as well as Easley and the other artists would have loved to have been included in the design of the aliens, what came out they never liked. He felt that if Easley had been given a shot at doing the concept art for the aliens that they would have really had something. Of all the new aliens Larry liked the "monkey dude" the most.

I'm sitting here with a glass of wine and some white trash ordeur orderves (miniature franks in BBQ sause) looking to relax after a long freaking day at work and I'm faced with the decision as to whether to finish reading the last 12 pages of Ender's War or to start reading the hardcover "Complete Elmore" art book that just came in the mail from my first Kickstarter campaign. What to do, what to do?

I don't remember this one, despite reading White Dwarf quite often:

The ships look like a cross between something from Flash Gordon and Car Wars... Smile

While looking for some stock pictures for a new adventure I'm writting for next summer, I came across an interesting picture from 1931 (though the design dates back to the 1860's):
