![]() December 10, 2013 - 11:34pm | I need silhouettes of all the spaceships and space stations from the Knight Hawks game for the SF Wiki. The wargame book has some great Sathar silhouettes (yes, I know they mislabeled the Frigate and Destroyer), but the RPG book places a number of the UPF ships between two pages (I wished they just used a lineup of the counter icons for size comparison and kept then to one page). If I can get some high-definition images from the counters, then that would be sweet! |
![]() December 10, 2013 - 7:20pm | Any writers here that may be interested in creating a short Sci-Fi Star Frontiers-esque adventure module for the IceBlink Engine? It is a simple cRPG 2D system with a strong focus on story telling and Gold Box style combat (turn based). We will be releasing the initial version on Dec. 20th, but the Beta v7 is available on our website for testing. |
![]() December 10, 2013 - 7:25am | I was looking over the e-bay selection of Star Frontiers material today and someone is selling a complete lot of all rules, modules, accessories, and books for Star Frontiers for $249. In looking though the set, I discovered another choose your own adventure book that I had never known about. It's aimed at younger kids as it is in the Fantasy Forest line but it is #8 - Star Rangers Meet the Solar Robot. It's definitely set in the SF universe as there is a yazirian child on the cover. It's a sequel to #6 - Star Rangers and the Spy. You can find a short description and cover image here Ad Astra Per Ardua! December 1, 2013 - 12:20am | My wife and I watched the Ender's Game movie, and enjoyed it very much. We are now reading the books, and I am almost finished with the original quartet, and will soon start the Ender's Shadow series. I was wondering if anyone else had seen the movie, or read the books. There has been discussion of a movie sequel (based on Ender in Exile, which happen right after the movie/first book, not Speaker for the Dead, which takes place when Ender is an adult), and possibly a TV series. Opinions? |

Yes, sci-fi outfits form the 1970s... The vibrant colors mixed with neutrals... The ass-hugging tightness... The eponymous hairstyles... (in this era, the hair is a package deal) Lets start off with some classic Battlestar Galactica: |
![]() November 25, 2013 - 7:28pm | I Know, I Know, I Know... I've written in the SFman that sf aliens should not be fantasy escapees. And all i can do is quote Val Kilmer in Tombstone; "It seems my hypocrasy has no bounds." Perhaps I'm just lightening up a little after reading the treatment in Star's Without Number of what was clearly a space orc race that did not feel like fantasy escapees but rather a legit race with a real culture. I was just talking miniatures with Jaxon and my brain wandered over to some goblin miniatures that I happen to like but haven't purchased: I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
