So Jedion started a governor thread

    http://starfrontiers.us/node/7528

which got me thinking who would you appoint as the governor of Volturnus or Starmist or Alcazzar?

So a quick poll; your choices are:

    1) Your state's current Governor

    2) Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger

    3) Gov. Jessie Ventura

    4) The Governor (Walking Dead)
Sounds like a great job but where did you say we had to go?

I did not know that Vecna was an anagram of Vance.

I have to admit though that I had not read much of Jack Vance's writing other than I believe a short story. Interesting to see how this man touched us all even if you had not read his works.

Just curious; Has anyone here run the Star Mist module and what did you use for a ship?
Clearly the module was written before the KHs expansion came out.

Maximillion's vessel can land, and does so its HS 5 or smaller and since the module mentions only 2 crewmen I think we can presume its on the smaller side of say HS 3 or HS4 with no weapons.
The module also mentions a cargo hold which must be smallish. KHs gave us the large and small ion engine equipped freighters and the assault scout.

I still think that the Disney movie "the Black Hole" would make a decent enough RPG adventure.
    witness this discussion:
    http://www.starfrontiers.us/node/5204

It's currently playing on our TV and it occurred to me that a truly SF black hole adventure would be an Ebony Eyes discovery adventure.

The Dragon article had a KHs encounter set long after the discovery but the adventure could be set earlier

I'm engaged in a bit of net working with another RPG fan magazine, RPG Review. Their scope is all systems new and old with retrospectives and reviews. next issue is all about monsters and aliens and they are looking for encounters or monster write ups.

has anyone else around here ever played the WW1 aerial combat simulation game Wings of War?

I'm toying with adapting it to star frontiers for purely fighter on fighter actions as its a great fast play aerial dogfight war game. Best game I ever played was where I totally guessed every single move my opponent would make and got on his six and blasted his biplane out of the air with no damage to my plane at all.

I saw a recent documentary on this, its hard to forget.

I was thinking of what aliens visiting earth after all of us are gone and discovering a charnal ground dedicated to this practice - what would they think?

Its also a template for something really alien to western culture to pattern an alien culture on. Not perhaps for a PC race but for a race that is encountered.

Ray Harryhausen dies at age 92
    http://entertainment.msn.com/news/articlev2.aspx?news=806454

I remember being entranced by many of his films in the 70's and 80's

Almost every time we fought skeletons in D&D I sort of flashed back to his film where Sinbad fought the skeletons.

Thank Ray for lighting my imagination on fire, you were a titan that gave us visions of titans.

TV pilot movie called Planet Earth was created and written by Gene Rodenberry.

A man wakes from suspended animation in the 22nd century to find a world ruled by women and men are slaves called Dinks! Really?

Anyone ever see this? Was it any good?
