![]() June 28, 2013 - 10:34am | Looking to set up another Star Frontiers NetCon (like this one we did last year http://starfrontiers.info/VirtualCon)
in the September/October time frame. Right now I'm trying to judge the
best dates to generate the most participation. What weekends would you
be able to get on-line for a session or more and play some Star
Frontiers? Ad Astra Per Ardua! My blog - Expanding Frontier Webmaster - The Star Frontiers Network & this site Founding Editor - The Frontier Explorer Magazine Managing Editor - The Star Frontiersman Magazine |
![]() June 24, 2013 - 5:34am | I've been auditing a discussion on a gamma world yahoo group http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/gammaworld/ about hostile planet encoutners and this came up: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/06/20/sheep-eating-plant-bloom-puya-chilensis-photos_n_3474003.html a case of truth being stranger than fiction. I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
![]() June 22, 2013 - 3:44am | http://deltasdnd.blogspot.com/2013/06/scifi-saturday-asimov-on-hyperspace-pt-1.html interesting concept any other "DNA" I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
![]() June 17, 2013 - 7:45pm | Watching "Once Upon a Time In the West" by Sergio Leone love the set up for the protagonist's motivation (I wont spoil it if you haven't seen it) Eastwood truned this one down and I cant help but think this would have been better known if he hadn't. Of course I've been a huge fan of The Good, the Bad and the Ugly but I'm becoming intrigued with Once upon a time as it plays on my TV I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
![]() June 17, 2013 - 8:22am | So I'm working on a variant/mutant D20 ruleset for Star Frontiers. Originally it was a Mastercraft/Fantasycraft variant called Frontiercraft but I've since decided it needs to be its own thing. Crafty Games is a small company and while their rules are under the OGL, they've asked that they not be reprinted wholesale. I was dealing with enough differences that I felt I needed to be able to reference or incorporate rules themselves. |
![]() June 16, 2013 - 5:16am | I'm exhausted. School is ending soon (has ended for some) Dance School recital was Friday and I had a lot of financial responsibilities with that as well as extra time responsibilities: getting the kids to picture day, dress rehersal, the recital and actually showing up for practice for my role in the parents dance (more like panicing that I was out of my depth and worried about looking like a fool on stage.) I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
![]() June 14, 2013 - 8:47pm | http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-2273164/Richard-III-Scientists-reveal-DNA-results-confirm-kings-body-car-park-Lei... I'm always fascinated by these stories Got me thinking how to use it in the frontier- adventure where one leg of the mystery is to locate the body of one of the first settlers on Minotaur, Theseus. I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
![]() June 10, 2013 - 6:44am | Reason for doing a conversion: at its core SWON is a D20 system and since D20 based RPGs remain the 900 pound gorilla in the RPG market it makes sence to open up Star Frontiers to a segment of the hobby that only knows D20. Plus SWON is a rather elegant presentation of D20 rules IMO. Secondly you can create any human SF character with SWON as is so why not adapt it to the SF setting and open up possibilities for dralsites, vrusk and yazirians in this system? There is also the interesting correlation of only 6 levels of skill in SWON which could aid in converting characters. I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
![]() June 9, 2013 - 9:21am | Anyone want to help create a guild? Or help me build out the frontier in that online game (so far I am building Prenglar, Dixons Star and Zebulon :) )? I started playing it a couple of weeks ago in their newest galaxy. It's an interesting game, not sure if I'll upgrade to a paid account (the interface requires a lot of clicking). This is the recruiting link for the galaxy I am in : http://omega.astroempires.com/?ref=omega.2692 |
