    Interesting opening results... Surprised
Oh humans!! Innocent We discover a galactic community filled with multiple species of aliens, and the first thing we think about is "how can we have sex with them?".

    so...
if you square a square it becomes a cube...
if you square a cube does it become an octoid?

    Even Steven.
I honestly don't think they are widely used, Bill's article and Shell's artwork opened them up as a real viable race.

Is actually what I expected, but after the discussions, I was waiting to be surprised...
I agree there have been some good articles done, but it's kinda like the Dral, they are just a little too alien to easily get your head into... The Dral have an advantage of being a Core-Four, and the Mechanon are a fringe NPC race from a frequently debated source.

I have used the heck out of them, and could qualify for any of the first four poll options, at any given time.

When it comes to gaming I try not to limit my imagination.  So when I'm offered an idea (any idea) I try to exploit it.  If it needs tweaking to fit into my game universe, then I tweak it as needed and use it.  The only bad idea is the one that you reject out-of-hand imo.  So yeah, I use them.  But for now they're little-known and only hinted at.  Happily I have the benefit of introducing this system to a younger generation who don't know all the ins and outs of it so keeping this race a mystery to them for as long as possible provides quite a lot of fun. Smile
I don't have to outrun that nasty beast my friend...I just have to outrun you! Wink

Whats to allow? Mechnons are NPCs and thus the province of the referee.
I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers!

The Volturnus modules? What's to debate? That series had everything!

On that note, I couldn't vote as I didn't see the option that best describes my use of them...which would have been "Yes, sourcing the SF-2 Starspawn on Volturnus module".
I'm not overly fond of Zeb's Guide...nor do I have any qualms stating why. Tongue out
