![]() September 17, 2007 - 11:32am | Does anyone think there is a need for a glossary that would encompass all Projects? here is what I'm thinking. in the Planet Generator project I use terms like "extrasolar planet", "terrestrial" and so forth. I could have a popup window go to wikipedia or create my own Document as a glossary but it would just be for this project. so what about a site wide glossary were gammers can get all sorts of definitions? |
![]() September 12, 2007 - 10:39am | Is it possible to add a feature? Drupal has the following; http://drupal.org/project/Modules/category/66 here are some I found : http://drupal.org/project/subscriptions http://drupal.org/project/notify http://drupal.org/project/comment_notify http://drupal.org/project/commentmail |
September 11, 2007 - 5:07am | At the request of Corjay (though they're not exactly what he asked for) - I added some theming to the forums. Individual threads are already themed - but if you go to the topic list or ot the general forum page, you'll see some rounded corners and colors and such. You may have to flush your browser cache to see 'em. Let me know what you think. 3. We wear sungoggles during the day. Not because the sun affects our

September 2, 2007 - 6:12pm | I'm considering the mechanics behind a universal character generator for Star Frontiers. My idea is to have a number of optional modules (I'll call them "Rules Sets") defined, and give users the ability to add their own Rules Sets to accommodate their individual Projects or ideas. So you'll see something that looks kinda like:

August 26, 2007 - 9:05pm | I don't know how much use the chat app linked to by the main SFman site sees, but there's never anyone in there when I am. Maybe we should have a link to it from this site? I know I would love to be able to talk with you folks live and meet and talk to other SF people. (I don't know if this is an "Issue", so I put this here instead of in Support.) August 26, 2007 - 3:13pm | That means getting the word out about the site, not putting ads on the site. I have a couple places I want to pimp this site on, when we go live. They're both "geeky" social networking sites. Way of the Geek ( http://wayofthegeek.org/ ) is based around a contributor blog, but also has a forum (which, coincidentally, I co-admin). The Dire Café ( http://direcafe.ning.com/ ) is a networking site owned and run by Berin Kinsman (also known as "Uncle Bear"). August 23, 2007 - 6:04pm | I've implimented a change. Hitting enter in the rtf editor now adds <BR> tags instead of <P> tags. Yes, this is frustrating if you already have a bunch of material already riddled with <P> tags. But I've heard plenty of complaints about it and so I finally tried to do something about it. Corvus didn't like it one bit... and I know SmootRK turned off his RTF editor because it annoyed him too. I don't want to force people to "get used" to it. 3. We wear sungoggles during the day. ![]() August 22, 2007 - 7:58pm | After working on several projects for a while now, I've discovered several things that helps lubricate the project and improve presentation. 1) Creating the primary sections before doing anything on the project. This gives a place to parse information. You'll always know where to put something, because the section already exists. 2) Using all caps for primary sections helps distinguish the sections from their subsections in the printable version. |
August 19, 2007 - 12:20pm | So each project has its own forums... that's great. I created a general forum so people can discuss the site, project ideas, plan games, or do whatever. I figure it'll get used more once we go live (currently, we mostly just discuss the site. I'd like some ideas for the forum categories. So far I have: Resource Links Open Discussion Rules Questions Website Discussion 3. We wear sungoggles during the day. Not because the sun affects our

August 11, 2007 - 9:39pm | I removed the picture upload section from the Edit page of your profile. Now, there's a new "Avatar" tab when you visit your own profile. On that page, you can upload a new image (just like you used to be able to do) or select one from the gallery provided by Corjay (thanks, man!!). There are 98 avatars in the gallery, probably good enough I think :-) Any images you upload do not become part of the avatar gallery. 3. We wear sungoggles during the day.
