Clan structure and yazirians living in Galactic society.

With all the interesting development done on yazirian clan structure being very different from a nuclear human family I was wondering what the impact would be on some one like Hilo Headow. Comes to adulthood and founds a Mega corp in a human system and seemingly spends the rest of his life there. His urge and need for sexual release doesn't go away. Does he shack up with a yazirian girl friend like a human? Does he devote time or money at a charity educating the children of clanless yazirians living outside Yaz space? We've done some real neat development on clan structure and society but how do yazirians live in galactic society separated from their clans?

Nepotism!  I see this as one of those natural ways that clans branch off.  Hilo strikes out on his own and does good.  Now he can help others from his clan.  Humans may hate this but the yazirians consider it honorable to help others in their clan by bringing them on-board.  Hilo's company will have a significant yazirian population from his clan.  Their mates may also be from his clan or others as their individual stories may tell.  With the added influence that his success and prestige brings he can easily claim to be an independent branch of his clan.  He just needs some minimum number of his clan mates living with him.  Given time his branch will grow to the point that he may find it prudent to claim to be a separate and allied clan to his parent clan.  This may even happen by default after his death if he has established a stable and successful enough branch clan.

Hilo has taken a very risky and potentially venerated yazirian gamble.  By striking out on his own he risks becoming clanless.  But if he succeeds, as we may paint him as having done, then he becomes the equivalent of a Steve Jobs / George Washington mix.  A founding father and provider of careers for his people.

I imagine that female members of the clan that become pregnant get sent back home to deliver the pups and leave them in the established clan institutions for raising the young. Probably Hilo is sending money back too. After a point he's sent so much money and employed so many of the clan that he can do no wrong.

And at some point they no longer send children home for school, etc. but rather bring things to them and that is how they become an independent clan.
