Science Hunt
The party is hired by an experimenting (scientist, university lab, corporate lab, team of scientists, crazy rich old man). The employer is creating repellent and control sprays for dangerous creatures found in (wherever). The party may be hired outright, run into the employer while traveling in the wilderness or overhear dangerous tales of excitement, cunning, bravery and credits to be had!

Once hired, the employer (scientist) will request one of the following; certain creatures to be captured alive, a body part, feces, urine sample, blood or some other byproduct.

The scientist will follow the party offering sane, insane and sometimes humors advice. The party is rewarded well for each successful specimen retrieved and penalized for vital parts or information that was lost (even to the point of throwing tantrums).

Referees should create creatures that are exotic, hard to reach, dangerous, subtlety dangerous, tricky or perhaps even semi-intelligent.

After a few hunts the party encounters a terrifyingly unique creature that must be captured alive. Hopefully those tranquilizers the scientist brought along work, if not, break out the sleep grenades! The scientist will insist he is the only one capable of using the tranquilizers. The party must protect him while he gets off a shot; if the dose is too weak the creature may wake up during transport placing the scientist at risk (he was enthralled with the creature and is studying it during the trip back to the lab).

Rewards are credits although the Referee may see fit to give our other types of non-monetary rewards. Example could include a repellent that works on a creature (or creatures) that party often comes across. Love potion number five. An injection that grants the player a boost to one ability for 2d10 turns or a chemical that changes his body into another creature for a day.

Quickdeath repellent?
I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers!
