A brief Explanation

To start with I required approved membership to this project just in case any of my pen and paper players actually get motivated to join the site. I'm be posting what is mostly GM's eyes only material and I thought that requiring approval was prudent.

my intent is to use this project to polish and organize my thoughts and ideas and preserve them in a better format then some pencil written sheets stuffed into a rule book and my miniatures case.

I certainly welcome comments and suggestions in the forum- I think I set the permissions (not 100% sure about that) so that I'm the only one producing content but if I like your ideas I will steal them and incorporate them.

Currently I'm using the documents section to work on stuff and the downloads section for finished material.
I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers!

cool. I thought that is what you might be doing.
I have liked the ideas you have and plan on "borrowing" some as well.
If I havent thrown away my old notes from the times i ran the modules, I will post what seems to fit with your ideas.
Time flies when your having rum.

Im a government employee, I dont goof-off. I constructively abuse my time.

Sounds fun.  The Volturnus adventures were my absolute favorite part of SF.  I am sure you have seen them, but I gave several of the Volturnus races an update in the StarFrontiersman, with a mind to rebalance them for potential use by players.  These updated entries include Kurabanda, Ul-Mor, and the Eorna.  I even created an altogether new race to use (Arborean), but I was not thrilled with the picture that got inserted for them... made them look like chicken-men.

These were written with updated historic info (well after the Volturnus series), but if you omit these details, the races can still be quite usable for more fully fleshed out NPC's or replacement characters during the course of your campaign.

Doesn't ShadowShack have tons of material where he turned the campaign around with players in the Star Devil organization.  I am sure he could provide you with loads of interesting plot twists to consider.

Why, yes I do! Cool

I have a complete game where the players portray themselves as the pirates, ranging from the recruitment into the Star Devil on Pale, transport to Zebulon and the Pacific class freighter that docks with the Serena Dawn after she is disabled by attack craft, boarding/raiding the Serena Dawn, and various missions on the surface while stationed at Outpost One and Slave City One (as well as Sea Port One, at the end of the dry canal where the pirates encounter the Sea-Mor...a race of sea dwelling Ul-Mor) including raids on the Kurubanda village and tracking/locating Serena Dawn survivors. The plot hook near the end is the players, having been marooned as the sathar fleet approaches, have to repair a damaged shuttle they encounter earlier on (the craft that brought Jameson and crew down from teh first mission) and attempt to reach the last waiting Star Devil craft that is accepting a load of valuable ore.
I'm not overly fond of Zeb's Guide...nor do I have any qualms stating why. Tongue out

You know the first time I heard about your campaign of running volturnus from the side of the pirates I thought, "Oh cool, nice twist." but it didn't really catch my attention but after reading the above I'm hooked.

Just updating this thread with a notice that this project is no longer exclusive to my home campaign but is now an open project focused on a revamp of classic campaign.

These are some neat ideas.

Thanks. I had a couple players that were, well...let's just say fans of CE characters from D&D --- who wanted a different twist in their game. So after the basic scenarios I started them off with the Volturnus trilogy, mirror imaged. I penned several other pirate adventures along the way after that, but the Volturnus run is my fave.
