Refer to: Spaceship Construction.

Do spaceship construction rules really belong in the Ultimate EQUIPMENT Guide?

If it provides new equipment you can purchase for your ship I suppose.

Wouldn't all the ones pertaining to a house ruled construction use just be in their house rule wiki section?

If everything is going to be mashed together it's going to become a confusing mess rather quickly.

Imagine the look on some GMs face when he sees the players ship stat sheet sporting a laser cannon listing 80D10 damage and he's not using that particular house rules set. Laughing

I generally agree.  But some new items for ship construction being in this guide isn't a bad thing.  For example, the Laser Pod from Polyhedron #19 is a fine example of a piece of equipment that can be purchased for space ships.  I'm not sure where the author was going with this section of the equipment guide, but this is just a thought.

After reading the document page - I think I agree with you guys - it seems more house rules than lists of equipment.

I agree.

"You're everything that's base in humanity," Cochrane continued. "Drawing up strict, senseless rules for the sole reason of putting you at the top and excluding anyone you say doesn't belong or fit in, for no other reason than just because you say so."
