Someone recently triggered me on this:

Converting fantasy races to SF.

So humans are what they are no conversion.

The 3 SF races are distinguished by
And ability they can always us: generate multiple limbs, ambidexterity, and gliding

An ability that can be improved: battle rage, lie detection, and comprehension

A somewhat drawback for color: requires sungoggles in bright sunlight, goofy sense of humor, obsessive about beauty

These things and ability score modifiers are what distinguish a species as different from human. Culture eye sight, society, attitudes are color not mechanics and will write themselves largely based off the classic conventions of fantasy races. Except that we are converting them to sci fi.

So this thread is about ironing out these game mechanic distinguishers.

Also all improvable abilities star at 15% instead of 5% conforming to Vrusk comprehension.

I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers!

Wood elves
+5 DEX/RS; -5 STR/STA

Stealth 15%

As a clan wood elves are attuned to nature and act as 0 level environmentalist, biologist or etc (choose one ) meaning no -20 penalty for performing a skill you don't have. Or if they have the skill +10% bonus to using it.

Other space faring elf clans

Drow equiv and half elves

Other candidates for conversion: orcs, half orcs, goblins, dwarves, gnomes: shire or tinker gnomes.

Story of their existence is probably transhuman origin. DNA similarity between most is same as for wolves and dogs. Hence the possibility of half breeds.
