I read a bunch of reviews that were critical of the Hobbit, the unexpected journey and now that I saw it I think some of the criticism is just people looking for something to gripe about.

For instance, one reviewer pissed over the fact that there are no women in the movie and yet Peter Jackson worked Galadriel into the story.

I was thinking on the fact that today is Pearl Harbor day and what that means to me as an American.

Eventually, my thouhgts wandered over to the Frontier.

If the attack on Pearl Harbor was a day of infamy and 3,000 died then what was the day the Sathar attacked?

Consider the eorna- not 3000 but their whole civilization was wiped out leaving an insufficent gene pool for the species to carry on. No wonder the eorna call the day the sathar attacked the "Day of Doom"

What would the citizens of the Frontier call the Day the Sathar attack?

Just pulled the stuff out of the basement. Last January's purchase of a pre lit tree for 75% of its cost (the kids had been asking for a bigger tree- I had bought a 3' one 10 years ago) plus 10 years of accumulated ornaments and lights.

The kids had fun, I have a chest cold but thank God for LED lights. Job got done in record time-only had to listen to a Christmas CD one time through.

Star Clash Cover imageA storm is coming.

Rumors tell of vast fleets of ships being amassed in the far reaches of the galaxy. Fleets that will vie with one another for control of the space ways. No quarter is expected and none will be given in a battle to eliminate all opposition as these fleets clash among the stars.

A feature of Old Kingdom Egyptian culture was to build a tomb and a cenotaph (literally empty grave commemorating the dead) in both the north and the south of Egypt. Its debated which was the actual tomb and which the cenotaph. It your fantasy rpg game throw a cenotaph at tye players who are looking for a tomb could even have a prophesy concerning the openning of the tomb but no one believes the prophesy because the cenotaph was mistaken for the tomb and thus the prophesy didnt come true when the cenotaph was openned.
