I've shared this in other places as development has been on-going but now that it is done, I thought I'd share it here as well.  I've been designing a dice tower shaped like a retro sci-fi spacecraft.  The full details of the design and building process can be found on my blog.

I need your feedback on this.

By 10 FY, The Planetary Resource Treaty was signed. This document laid the foundation for the Survey Corp and put all further exploration of space in the hands of United Planet Federation.  The main focus of the Corp is the following:

The board has been pretty dead lately, since there seems to be a lull in gaming topics howzabout we talk about non-SF stuff that's going on? Just for the sake of participation in...anything.

This trend is making the round on Facebook and some of my family is doing it. I got thinking that I would describe myself as a dralasite, a vrusk, and a yazirian. Especially since we learned from L. Schick that the SF races were designed around the fractured pieces of the human psyche. I can and do identify with all three of the core four aliens:

I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers!

I struggled through my first story arc and finished back in late May/early June.  Then came a huge run of scheduling conflicts and RL concerns for both my players on top of a huge writer's block problem for me, and now all the momentum is gone.  One of my players is perfectly happy playing tactical board games, and the other all of a sudden got a huge jones to play Trek.  My only consolation is that at least I can get him to run some Trek.  I couldn't interest him at all in running SF, even after basically giving him copies of every module and rulebook I could find online plus both

35th anniversary patch designOkay, it's official. I got the go ahead from WotC to make the 35th anniversary patch. So now I need to get a good count of how many I need to make. The full details and a picture of the patch design (also shown at right) can be found

Burning Worm is a bi-annual gathering that originally took place at the town of Laconia, along the northern polar sea of Laco (Dixon's Star). Founded in 33 FY by veterans of the First Sathar War, it was meant to promote tourism to this out-of-the way community on a backwater planet of the Frontier by bringing in artists and forming a temporary community for about a week. The gathering would end with the "burning of the worm" -- a huge effigy of a Sathar.

We all know about the mega-corps and some of the cults and cadres of the Frontier, but what about labor unions and professional societies? What impact do they have?

The Zebulon's Guide had what you might consider a throw-away line about why characters would choose a profession. It went something like this:

I was just reading about the South Korean shipping line, Hanjin, filing for bankruptcy. Ships are barred from docking lest fees go unpaid or creditors repossess the ships. Cargo in containers cannot be delivered and crews left in limbo.

In the Frontier it would be possible to still unload containers though just detach and hand off to concerned parties.

But imagine the disruption if Trans Travel filed for bankruptcy protection?

2012 Honda Rebel w/2800 miles for $500, it has a few issues that shouldn't be difficult to iron out. It runs (perfectly) so the rest is small potatoes.
