I just rescued my rather pitiful copy of B10 Nights Dark Terror which was left behind after the divorce. It's a pitiful copy becasuse I got hosed on ebay when I bought it as it did not have the die cut counters that came with it. Still happy to have it and relieved that I rescued it form my loving X.

It is my favorite Basic module.

Youngest has suddenly taken an interest in Star Wars after playing a game on line. I told her to start with episode IV. Watching it with her I noticed that the Stormtroopers in the boarding action at the beginning shot up the Rebel defenders pretty good.

Perhaps there is something to them pulling their shots at other times intending to let the Rebels to think they got away with something?

Or was it that the Stormtroopers in the boarding action had Vader breathing down their necks and thus were  well motivated.

I was channel surfing and the cult classic was on. Immediately, I thought Escape from New York the RPG- Star Frontier rules would certainly work. I google it and it turns out TSR produced the board game. I'm sure I knew that at some point but hadn't really thought much about it.

Most people have heard of the urban myth concerning the USS Eldridge and the Philadelphia Experiment. I just happen to consult Wikipedia on it and spotted that it was a Cannon Class Destroyer Escort which got me thinking immediately about SF. There is a lot there to mine for the game setting.

If you played this back in the early 2000's, fans have it up and running again. If you didn't play, it's fun for sci-fi fanatics.

Robot carrying carrying capacity inspired this

    http://www.starfrontiers.us/node/9452?#new

hover trailer- basically a small trailer you might tow behind your car or cycle. Probably two sizes small for cycle and medium for car.

what stats would we put to these?

    How much can one carry?

How do trailers degrade a vehicle's performance?

So I guess most everyone has heard that Carrie Fisher passed yesterday.

She was a cultural icon that transcended sci fi geekdom

Just saw it because I could not restrain myself.

Almost Star Frontiers-ish. Aside from artificial gravity, no aliens or guns.

Liked the depiction of the auto doc working on a person, interesting to see and not leave to the imagination.

For those that have seen Rogue One, let's discuss it. As the title suggests:

    SPOILER ALERT!!!

It's your own fault if you continue reading now that you've been warned twice. Kiss
