May 25 1977 Star Wars released to theaters.

The Space battles we're unlike anything we had seen and totally awesome.

Everyone wanted to be Han Solo, have a Wookie companion and fly around in the Millennium Falcon.

We collected Star Wars trading cards and had action figures and science fiction was changed. It didn't matter that at it's heart Star Wars is a fantasy- it looked like science fiction and it was cool.
I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers!

I read a short story about a couple of scientists on an alien world who do not migrate to the mountains when the natives tell them to migrate because a great animal migration is coming.  the native leave and the scientists stay in their durable prefab home because they think that the little animals that the natives say will come in deadly mass are nothing to worry about.  Not to spoil the story, they stay and survive just barely.

I'm not overly fond of Zeb's Guide...nor do I have any qualms stating why. Tongue out

My perspect on this game and others don't always match those of the avid gamer who loves this and other games that influenced me over my decade and a half playing RPGs.  Such was the case in the "Silent Running' thread.  I know artifical gravity is a sensitive subject on this forum and should have keep my thoughts to myself. It seems like everytime I open my mouth, I end up killing the threat.  So I wish to apologise for that right now.

I've had an itch to re see this movie having seen it in the base theater when I was a kid. It was one of the early sci-fi movies that certainly inspired my love for Star Frontiers.

I enjoyed rewatching it despite how dated the music is.

You know the cover of Zebulon’s Guide, featuring a character in a bad ass suit of powered armor.

I don't know how many times Ive seen Patton over the years but every time I see a real photograph of Patton I have to stop and make a mental adjustment because to me George C Scott IS Patton.

And Patton the movie probably does a better job than most conveying history. But I wonder what will be "history" for Millennials? The Matrix?
