 September 21, 2017 - 7:54am | Broght up in another thread thought I'd hash out the details its basically a beach ball like rescue space suit, called a Glad Bag becasue your glad you had it when you needed it. STrictly for rescue/emergency purporse. It uses the same LS packs as regular space suits but its primary benefit is that it can be doned in about a minute by anyone where as a regular space suit takes much more time. Its primary draw back it that you are in a beach ball and dependent on others for rescue. Stats: 1/3 space and weight of a regular space suit and 1/3 cost? I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |

September 22, 2017 - 8:10am | Check: include tether and clip, strobe light and radio beacon normal procedure would be that militia or navy is in space suite these would be for taking someone off another craft who does not have a space suit or is no longer able to reach it. You'd only use this in dire need but the space saving and wt. savings make it a no brainer for rescue equipment. I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |

It could be launchable by hand or mechanical, with small thrusters to give it movement and stabilization in zero-g. Just a thought. |

Just a thought. sounds like a stretcher/ evac board designed for vacuum with several of the gismos from teh med kit included med skanner, auto doc- not so the medic and operate on himself but so he could operarte on the patient hands free. the obligatory beacon and tether. I'd call this a new piece of equipment just needs a name Airtight Evacutation Trauma Operations Stretcher: AETHOS tube I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
