There have been some issues uploading files recently or having files that were uploaded strangely corrupted.  I think I tracked down at least part of the issue.  The disk that holds all the data was full.  I've cleared off a bit of space and will be adding some more (it a virtual machine so really easy) but the site might go off-line for a bit when I make the switch.

Also if anyone noticed that the site was unreachable yesterday for a while it's becuase my ISP decided to change my IP address and I had to update the DNS tables for the site which took a while to propogate to the rest of the internet.  That was the first time my IP address changed in 3.5 years so I don't expect it to happen again soon.

Hello TerlObar:

When I try to upload a revised file, I'm still getting messages such as:

"The selected file /tmp/tmp_zG5KSV could not be uploaded, because the destination files/4 WeaponsChartRevised2016.pdf is not properly configured."

I'm guessing Jcab that's because the file you are tying to save to is based on the old table.  Try finding the doc on the site, downloading it (getting the new table in the process), making the changes to the new DL, then updating.

I'm still having issues posting links. I have to actually make them links via the editor software (major PITA by the way) rather than having them post as links that can be clicked. For example, click this:

See? You can't...

Actually it was a permission problem.  Try it now.

Last comment was to JCab747.  The issues with the links is something else that I need to figure out.

@ShadowShack.  I sometimes think it's something wierd with your account but when I look at it I can never find the problem.  Your posts always have extra HTML tags embedded in them that are very different from what show up when I post something.  I haven't been able to figure out what causes it.

The extra HTML tags could come from where ever the link is copied from.  I often wash my copied text by first pasting it into an ascii only editor like notpad and then copying it again from notepad and pasting that.  That way I am sure that any embedded HTML or other meta data is gone.  So, as a test, here is a try.  First post is a link from just TerlObar's testing post above just copied and pased directly here.  The second is washed first through notepad.

Those both worked so here is a post from wordpad.

And another from LibreOffice.

Typed on notepad and copy/cut/pasted:

{EDIT} Well that didn't help...

I'm tempted to create a second/temp account just to see if it repeats. Not without admin's blessings of course.

Go for it.  I'm curious as well as I can't reproduce the effect you're seeing.  Those strange tags come up in your posts that have the quoting issue as well.

Could this be browser related?  I'm using Firefox.

So am I.  Plus I'm on Linux, not Windows.  It could be related to the browser but it seems unlikely.  But who knows.

Firefox on Linux can get a bit tempermental.  Gives me fits from time to time.

So it turns out that in addition to being the best browser for downloading better broswers...IE works better on this site. Assuming "better" can mean a preference for dial-up connection grade page loading. ANd I thought this site was slow on Chrome...

Okay.  Looks like it is some interaction with chrome that is putting a bunch of <div> tags in around everything and the module that finds URLs and auto converts them to hyperlinks doesn't like them.
