Table heavy adventure. PC must accumulate "point" or merits or something to graduate- highest level of points means immediate graduation with all rights, privileges and responsibilities conferred call this an "A" grade. B grade is provisional status and lessor title full status obtainable with completion of a small /minor quest (roll on table). C grade is probationary and remedial learning status: repeat some steps of Adventure and or consider a different discipline. D grade requires PC to change discipline to remain in Academy and re running of adventure. F grade means forced out PC may continue to pursue magical arts but will be labeled derogatory terms like hedge wizard and he will not have access to Academy and guild resources.

Player will make be required to do scribe work in his time at the academy. Roll for random spell scroll that he is tasked with copying. Player makes 3 skill checks to succeed at making a good copy. If he passes before the third check ask if he wants to make a copy for himself if yes deduct appropriate money for cost in ink and vellum. Roll again at +20 to see if its a good copy.  Success means player has a spell scroll at base form of spell (non scaling). Same for potions. Wand imbued with magic. Construct or familiar. Final exam is a tactical encounter (extended) where PC must overcome several challenges for points to graduate.

Player will be asked if he wants to try to make some side money while in training. If yes make a PER check to evade official notice by Academy and guild. Roll for amount of profit. If caught PC earns demerits toward graduation total and next opportunity to make side income is at -5 PER check. Success mean +5 at next check. Academy and guild recognizes that this activity goes and that it. Helps apprentices to foot the bill for becoming a wizard but officially they must frown on it.

Making side money prevents doing something like making your own copy of a spell scroll for yourself. So its either or.
