Hail all you veteran SF Game Refs! Wondering if you have the time, can you check out a SF adventure I've been working on and am just about to put the proverbial cherry on top of? Haven't play tested it yet, but plan to soon.
Go to my SF site (addy below) then to the 'Shepherd's Star' links. It's pretty much Alpha Dawn adventure with Zeb's Guide seasoning mixed with a pound of my crappy artwork. Cook at 70 degrees farenheit for about 6 hours, and serve cold. Feeds certain death to 3-6 player characters (maybe).
Oh, sorry. Should always remember never to post on an empty stomach. Tongue out

Thanks

Captain Rags - awesome!

The Free Floater Cantina is a little pricey but maybe that's because it cost a lot to get booze to the station. Smile

I didn't read every detail but perused each page and throughly enjoyed the adventure - would you consider publishing this through the Star Frontiersman? It deserves it's own publication and it's great you have artwork. We could put it in the layout and have some of the Referee's play test.

I'd dig putting the adventure being in SFM certainly, but I feel I still have to work out some of the quirks like the drink prices at the Free Floater Cantina and other costs. Is there a SF related source for economics in the frontier for minor expenditures such as food & drink? I remember the rulebooks stating that it is assumed a certain percentage of a player characters income is spent on food, clothing, rent, etc.
I also think I should detail some of the maps at the S-4 mining base a bit more. I describe the rooms, but kind of hurried through the maps. Not sure if you ever read TSR's 'Buck Rogers in the XXV Century' RPG that came out around the time of Zeb's Guide. That's where I got the concept (and name) of 'Dead Man's Wharf', the 'Free Floater Cantina', and one or two other businesses on the space station. In the Buck Rogers RPG adventure, Dead Man's Wharf was more of a throw away scene and the station design was smaller (more run down too). But I liked the idea of a gritty, out of the way space station that was frequented by the dreggs of space. I also liked playing with the idea of zombie scenarios as I'm kinda a fan of zombie flicks.

Thanks for checking the adventure out.

The prices are whatever you want, I was just poking. :-)

I worked up a Goods & Services section for FrontierSpace game which includes a lot of what the players will spend credits on. I'll use it for a filler page for this upcoming issue.

Ehh...I wouldn't be too quick to mention the BR RPG, a lot of folks here hold Loraine Williams in great contempt Wink

I haven't quite perused the adventure end of the site, but I just got done with the art galleries. I'm a fan of MS Paint artwork, I invoke it often myself (mostly for deck plans, ship exteriors, & maps). I loved your KH Campaign Book Space Fortress (Darkworld) rendition! Some of the others that really caught my eye include your various asteroids, the Hercules shuttle (looks kind of like a ship from the ShatterZone game), Gullwind, Sathar cruiser, and the Hepplewhite, Inc scout ship.

I'm fond of the Hepplewhite ship as I recycled the yazirian child (Rinny) into a second generation PC in my game...second generation meaning my initial characters got a little too "powerful" and I needed something a little more fresh for the latter era of my campaign.
I'm not overly fond of Zeb's Guide...nor do I have any qualms stating why. Tongue out

Ah, you remember that shuttle from the basic game's 'sample adventure' and also company name that was mentioned, eh? Yup, it's the very same shuttle with some slight alterations to the interior. Glad to hear that Rinney grew up to have adventures of his own.

Yeah, the BR25 RPG was used more as a gaming aid for my SF campaign than anything else. The ships and space stations are mostly compatible. I liked the shifting planetary orbit game aid, but didn't like the 'hey look...it's Buck Rogers sitting over there' feel to the game. Some of the 'gennies' and player character races might be usable for SF aliens though. Hmm...

Thanks for taking a look see of my site. Maybe you'll have a chance to read the Shepherd's Star section soon. I could really use the imput before trying to play test it.
