Was musing about the Sisters of Charitable Retribution today and wondering if we need nuns in Star Frontiers?

Side Note- I collect minis and one of the things I hate is the tendency for miniature manufacturers to produce a nun miniature that really is a stripper dressed as a nun. Call me crazy but I just hate that and it might stem from 9 years of Catholic school and the thought of any of the nun that taught me showing some skin or leg is enough to make me vomit.

So this is not about stripper nuns.

The name Sisters of Charitable Retribution was something I just made up on the spot. It suggests an order dedicated toward charity or helping those in need and retribution hints at righting injustice.

Martial arts or the gun?

If they study martial arts then you sort of get a "Kung Fu" television series and Eastern vibe.

and if the gun then they deffinetly have a more western vibe.

Motivations? why would this character join an adventure like the Volturnus campaign? A lot of adventure starts in Star Frontiers is strictly a guns for hire sort of thing. How to work in this type of character and remain true to the character?

I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers!

Theological aspects or what is the theology of the sect?

to keep it simple lets say its pantheistic- the divine is everywhere and in everything

We all join with the divine in death?

why do good in the here and now? what benefit is it? why not look out for number 1?

Some tenents;
1. Service gives life meaning

2. Good and Evil / light and dark are in a dance of constant flux in the universe

3. When evil dominates, retribution brings things back into balance.

4. the divine scales of justice will weigh us all

Saintly personifications:
Saint Charity
Saint Retribution
Saint Justice
- all three take female forms and are venerated by the order.
I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers!

Statements a nun might say:

"You have been weighed and found worthy of retribution."

there will be a fine line for these characters to walk- as it doesn't look good for a nun to go to jail.

It may be that they go straight up martial arts instead of the gun.
