I am taking this almost quote from the book Gray Raiders of the Sea by Chester G Hearn (Louisiana State University Press 1992)

Confederate Agent Bulloch arranged with a British agent to recruit sailors for the built in Britain in somewhat secret CSS Alabama (cruiser/commerce raider). When he arrived at the dock with the tug to take the recruited sailors to the CSS Alabama, he was shocked to see as many women as men on the dock. The sailor's ladies would not leave their men's sides until they had been paid the sailors' first months wages.
Sounds like a great job but where did you say we had to go?

So Star Frotniers is really different from Star Trek and this is one of the reason I always like it so much is those differences and the aliens too I suppose. With the news of the decommission of the CVN 65 Enterprise and comparisions to Star Trek's Enterprise it got me thinking about exploration ships in Star Frontiers.

I took a fresh look at the basic game book this morning and noticed a few things.

    1. the intro on the inside of the the front cover isn't all that bad for a intro for new players and why not we all read it and it hooked us?

Other than what is in Alpha Dawn and Zeb's guide, what do we really know about the Sathar, and what is speculated about them?

Seems like there is an article in this magazine that combines Alernity and SF:

Once again I have been working on the hideous Zeb's time line and trying to make it a little bit saner. Here is my Blue Plague portion. Input appreciated.

One question what were the megacorps doing while all their customers were dying?

I am putting together a game in which I intend to run through all the old modules.  If you've played them before, it's probably been a while so anyone is welcome.  I am considering a pbp format, and will be starting with Dramune Run.  Characters made should be general power level of the characters on page 20 of the Dramune Run remastered.  I will, of course, make slight alterations, to the modules.
Alpha Dawn and Knight Hawks rules, and Zeb's Guide for equipment and supplemental information, but not the Zeb's rules.
    So, who is interested?

I think the Common Muster was as important to the Frontier as the Articles of Conferderation were to the United States. They laid ground work and got things moving in the right direction. Intellectuals on the ground spent time thinking about its pros and cons and were prepared to propose more sweeping measures that probably would not have passed without the prior document/experience. I think to characterize the situation in which the common muster would be possible there has to be government owned vessels and perhaps this was the norm leading up to the first muster.

Can anyone explain why only small ships with high speed can shoot ARs? Is it the deep space equiv of firing LOS thus they are only suitable for fighters and assault scouts? OR is there some technical reason that I'm just ignorant of?

I wandered into the Alternative History group at Deviant art and got caught up in one guy's gallery who has been producing skads of flags for fictional Middle Eastern kingdoms and republics. Particularly liked the Commonwealth of Assyria flag. I might have to go back there and down load a bunch of his stuff and file it away in a colonial steam punk folder some where.
