Terminator meets Star Frontiers?

From a distant future comes a time travelling mechanon or a classic SF hunter killer robot seeking out the player characters for termination.

It seems that in the future a coalition of evil mechanons, sathar, and the super computer behind the NET megacorp have taken over the Frontier turning the populations of whole colonies into slave bots.

The leaders of the resistance are the PCs or their descendants.

a good mechanon also comes back in time to provide the future "back" story.
I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers!

The PCs might undertake a mission to change the future by destorying the super computer behind the NET corporation.

If they do this it can have the unwitting effect of actually making the "bad" future possible.

of course ranting about time travel and killer robots might get one committed to Arkham Asteroid Asylum.

Alternately the PCs could start in the future and are witness to the totall destruction of the Frontier as its ground under the might of the Super computer/evil mechanon/ sathar alliance.

They manage to access the time travel lab and go back to the present day Age of Adventure Frontier.
they can live out their lives here except for the hunter-killer robots that keep turning up so they must seek to change the future.

I suppose the only way for this to really work is for the seek and destroy robots of the future to be able to pass for organic beings. In other words an anthropomorphic robot but one that passes for a member of the core 4 same as the basic Terminators did. Hard to imagine a robot moving about the frontier and booking passage on space ships without raising an eye.

Terminators never booked passage, they were quite adept at acquiring their own transportation in each & every flick. Case in point:

T1 - Arnold commandeers a station wagon, police car, a Kawasaki motorcycle, and tanker truck.
T2 - Arnold commandeers a Harley, another station wagon, a security patrol car, and repairs a truck under the guise of John's "Uncle Bob". Meanwhile the T-1000 acquires a police car, a semi tow truck, a Kawasaki patrol bike, a police helicopter, and a tanker truck.
T3 - Arnold acquires a 4x4 pick-up, Indian patrol bike, a fire truck, a hearse (what is the T-800 fascination with station wagons anyways?), RV, and a helicopter while the terminatrix commandeers a convertible Lexus, a massive crane along with remote control of four emergency vehicles, an unmarked police car from the back seat, and a helicopter.

This theme repeats through the TV series, Salvation, and Genysis (of which I've only seen once each so I can't accurately comment on the order of events). The bottom line here is whatever a Terminator needs, it TAKES.
I'm not overly fond of Zeb's Guide...nor do I have any qualms stating why. Tongue out

This being a Sci Fi game where robots and andriods are already common you could drop the time travel part and have the NET supercomputer with help from a Mechanons and Sathar having taken over a city and are now expanding on to the rest of the planet and then the entire Frontier. PCs could jump right in from anywhere at that point.
Sounds like a great job but where did you say we had to go?

Another case that backs this clause:

"12 guage autoloader, .45 long slide with laser sighting..."

Anything else?

"Phased plasma rifle in the 40 watt range."

Hey, just what we got in stock...pal.

"9mm Uzi." (starts to load shotgun after all is on the table)

Hey, you can't do that...

"Wrong!" (BOOOOOM)

The T-800 becomes a "wanted man" quickly enough this way, but as written they will not stop until they complete their mission.

Watched a movie from Redbox tonight called Singularity. Seven years into the AI (Kronos) deciding to wipe out humanity, it creates a Terminator that doesn't know its a Terminator to convince Katniss Everdeen to give up the location of the Secret Human City. Terrible B movie but it does present some interesting ideas if you are going to do a Terminator campaign.
Sounds like a great job but where did you say we had to go?
