In New Hope when R2-D2 ran off and Luke is bemoaning how much trouble it ll cause him C3PO totally throws him under the bus.

LUKE: What are you doing hiding there?

Threepio stumbles forward, but Artoo is still nowhere in sight.

THREEPIO: It wasn't my fault, sir. Please don't deactivate me. I told him not to go, but he's faulty, malfunctioning; kept babbling on about his mission.

 LUKE Oh, no!

Luke races out of the garage followed by Threepio.

EXT. TATOOINE - LARS HOMESTEAD Luke rushes out of the small doomed entry to the homestead and searches the darkening horizon for the small triped astro- robot. Threepio struggles out of the homestead and on the salt flat as Luke scans the landscape with his electrobinoculars.

THREEPIO: That R2 unit has always been a problem. These astro-droids are getting quite out of hand. Even I can't understand their logic at times.

LUKE: How could I be so stupid? He's nowhere in sight. Blast it!

THREEPIO: Pardon me, sir, but couldn't we go after him?

LUKE It's too dangerous with all the Sandpeople around. We'll have to wait until morning.

Owen yells up from the homestead plaza.

OWEN:  Luke, I'm shutting the power down for the night.

LUKE All right, I'll be there in a few minutes. Boy, am I gonna get it.

He takes one final look across the dim horizon.

LUKE You know that little droid is going to cause me a lot of trouble.

THREEPIO Oh, he excels at that, sir.

Talk about throwing a buddy under the bus! C3PO just hours earlier gave a glowing recommendation for R2 when the other droid was revealed to have a bad motivator.

I searched for the video clip but could not locate it.

Has anyone ever pondered the C3PO line "Thank the Maker" which implies an almost theistic thought process on the part of droids. Whether it was a theme that Lucas included and just never got back around to is possible. The only other connection to droids & Deity is when C3PO "impersonates" one in episode 6.

Ah since we find out C3PO's maker is Anakin/Darth when it says Thank the Maker is it really saying Thank you Darth Vader for creating me?

Or just another massive hole in the Star Wars plot lines.
Sounds like a great job but where did you say we had to go?

On a separate note, Luke started off as a whiny adult:

"I Was Going to Toshi Station to Pick Up Some Power Converters..."

Could in it be a genetic trait in the Skywalker family that as kids they are annoying? Or is anoying an identification marker for strong affinity for the force?

Only for those jedi that started their training when they were too old...
I'm not overly fond of Zeb's Guide...nor do I have any qualms stating why. Tongue out

The Gallaxy far far away would be a hell of a lot safer without that family... just saying.
