Once the fighting begins each side will attempt to get an edge by bringing in Mercenary forces. To keep things interesting the brief back story for each includes reasons why they would serve either side. They are Mercenaries you know. Whether they will still serve when the Sathar presence is revealed is up to the Gamemaster.

No one is sure what race the Iron General was before having all of its outer body destroyed and replaced with cybernetic devices. The Iron General leads a Laser Tank Battalion of soldiers who are also Cyborgs, although not as extensively as the Iron General. Whether they hold a grudge against the UPF, a megacorporation, or the Sathar for their current condition or if they are just killing machines decides who they fight for.

Vihm are not respected in the UPF. Their mysterious origins and underground lives make them misunderstood. Skarn 3 fights to change this. Using his superior technical and military skills he shows the UPF what a battalion of Vihm can do. Whether they are fighting for or against the UPF is an open question.

Infantry is the Queen of Battle and Subadai is out to show everyone the truth of that statement. His troops are the best in the Frontier and will fight for anyone against anyone to prove it.

It is a simple truth that you can have the best troops with the best weapons but if you don't have food, water, air, ammunition and the thousands of other things that are consumed everyday by those troops and weapons you will lose. Tovan and his fleet of ships will keep you in those things and it doesn't care what you do with the material once it is delivered as long as the credits keep rolling in.
