Here we have a megacorp listed in the Knight Hawks campaign expansion. Since the more extensive listing of megacorps is in Zebs which was pulled almost word for word from a Dragon article I have been using that listing. At first glance it would seem that they are not listed in the Zeb/Dragon listing BUT they are.

Look under the subsidiaries of the Streel Corp. and they are there. Guess not even megacorps are immune to hostile takeovers.

Guesses as to what happened?
Sounds like a great job but where did you say we had to go?

Hostile take over? or welcomed take over?

Somehow it happened.

One wonders about economic warfare among vrusk companies.
I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers!

Mergers and acquisitions of major corporations do occassionally happen.

Back in 1998 the CEOs of Chrysler Corporation and Daimler-Benz came up with the so-called "merger of equals" that essentially was Daimler's take-over of the American automaker. But a number of things conspired against the successful synthesis of the two corporate cultures, leading to Daimler selling off Chrysler to Cerberus Management where a former head of Home Depot, Robert Nardelli was put in charge.

Then came the Great Recession and the implosion of the automotive market. A number of people in the Obama administration felt Chrysler wasn't worth saving so they basically gave it to Fiat while they "saved" General Motors... and thus we have FCA -- Fiat-Chrysler Automobiles.

So, something bad probably happened with the Greater Vrusk Mutual Prosperity Institution. Perhaps it was devastated during the Second Sathar War to such an extent that Streel was the "white knight" that saved it.

Or, there was collusion between the upper management of both corporations where they had a "merger of equals" with Streel being "more equal" -- i.e. the actually controlling party -- than the Vrusk company.

By the way, I'm only giving a very shortened and cleaned-up version of Chrysler's history with Daimler, Cerebus and Fiat.

I have previously gone with Streel being an organized crime group so they took over the Vrusk company for two reasons. 1) to give them banking and financial markets they could not otherwise get and 2) to give them greater appeal to Vrusk markets which are rather complicated to work in.
Sounds like a great job but where did you say we had to go?
