![]() August 17, 2012 - 7:52pm | Anyone interested in having some fun making a Star Frontiers CYOA? I imagine we could use the Documents in the Adventure Writing Forum project. The main page will be the stories beginning with choices at the bottom. Each choice will be a new page. Kinda like the Refer to: The Keep It Rolling Story Sound like fun? Perhaps some of our kids can help write. I think the end product can be two-fold

August 17, 2012 - 8:04pm | Interesting. Alas, I didn't publish it to the intarwebs because I have been having writers block on the first adventure. I have the outline/flow but the text is very primitive, work has been getting in the way. |
![]() August 17, 2012 - 8:47pm | Is there a web site that would facilitate creation, something we all could sign up for? The son unit and I played "Castaway" earlier. This is very simple, not much reading and could easily be adapted to Star Frontiers. |
August 17, 2012 - 9:10pm | My intention was to put it up on my game company web server. Essentially another traffic generator. In fact if there is interest in using it I will finish it up. The viewer did require a registration as a player so that it can track chapters and stuff, I could change some things relatively easy so an anonymous user would go through SF specific adventures without the registration requirement. |
![]() August 17, 2012 - 10:43pm | If we have more interest (maybe give this thread a week?) that might be a good idea since you have the means. We could announce on G+ as well. |

September 11, 2012 - 8:03pm | Sounds like a good CYOA story. We should talk about what the reader interface needs to look like. I really need external motivation to finish off the interactive fiction engine (I spend more time writing since I code all day already :) ). Would anyone else use a CYOA story editor? |
![]() September 12, 2012 - 2:04pm | I started a poll. It will prob get more exposure than this thread. :-) Refer to: Would you use a CYOA story editor? |
November 19, 2012 - 5:30pm | Get your story ideas ready! :) Current plan is to launch the interactive fiction/cyoa writer and reader during the first week of January when I install a server cluster for my game company at a local colocation facility. Sadly the current shared host is having reliability issues so I probably won't even bother posting it there even for testing. I've been using an e-copies of Captive Planet and Villians of Volturnus for testing, so those will be available to read when the application launches. |
![]() November 19, 2012 - 6:33pm | Cool. Dennis Maggard's Cthulhu Hymnal- lymerick "Necronomicon" The Necronomicon? You can't be shown one! While the libraries will never loan one! But if its so rare And guarded with care Why does every nut case seem to own one? |
November 21, 2012 - 5:51am | Tunnels & Trolls. Now that brings back memories. I like the concept being discussed here. Not sure if my schedule will permit my participation, but it sure sounds great! |
